'Snowfall' Season 5 is FX's most-watched show, Damson Idris says it's all for John Singleton
It's been two weeks since the premiere of 'Snowfall' Season 5 and the show has already become one of the most-watched shows on FX. The main protagonist of the show, Damson Idriswho plays Franklin Saint took to Twitter to celebrate the milestone. He shared a GIF of him smiling and captioned the post, "Snowfall is officially FX networks most-watched show and that is thanks to you guys, the fans. Nearly 5 million viewers a week. Not to mention yall that be bootlegging. I see you. Nonetheless, thank you to everyone for riding with us. It’s all for John Singleton."
The actor didn't shy away from taking a dig at the audience who would later download the show on online torrent sites. but was happy overall with the way the show performed. Per a Deadline report, the crime drama averaged 4.3 million Total Viewers across linear, VOD, and streaming with its two-hour premiere on February 23. The latest total viewer count was up by 13% from Season 4 and 43% up from the third season. The previous installment was also the most-watched show on FX.

The new season is set in 1986 and shows Franklin and his family raking in the moolah and doing more than well from themselves, but the ground below is cracking. Set in the aftermath of basketball star Len Bias' death, the cocaine epidemic takes LA by storm, and law enforcement makes no qualms that they're on war footing using force to tackle the issue.
The creation of C.R.A.S.H. (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) plays a major part in the season's storyline. At the moment 'Snowfall' continues to impress the way it does just like the last four seasons after starting off as a very underrated show, and the focus will be all on Franklin as he grapples his way through the druig-riddled LA labyrinth. Only time will tell how it ends.
'Snowfall' Season 5 airs Wednesdays at 10 pm ET on FX.
