LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Boys' was one of the most popular Amazon Original Series worldwide. The making of the next season of the show is already in full swing and an important update regarding the show is recently revealed. The shooting of Season 4 is now in progress and now actor Simon Pegg has confirmed his last day of the shoot recently through his social media post.

After a whirlwind of season 3, this superhero show has left open several storylines and burning questions to be answered in season 4. With some of them including the next move of the Homelander. 'The Boys' hails an ensemble including Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Antony Starr as Homelander and Tomer Campone as Frenchie. Pegg was last seen in the series during season 1 and had only a brief appearance in Season 2.

According to Comicbook, Pegg along with Rosemary Dewitt has been confirmed to play Hughie's parents in the show. Pegg portrays Hugh Campbell, the single father of Hughie Campbell, and has appeared on the show before on a video call with Hughie. But this will be the first appearance of Dewitt's character in the show. In his recent Instagram Post, Pegg posted a picture of his trailer and revealed that he had done filming all his scenes on the show and noted his fun time on set. He even teased the upcoming season to be insane.

"That’s a wrap for me on this season of @theboystv. More fun than a Compound V enema. So proud to be part of this incredible show. Will miss everyone. Season 4 is going to be INSANE!!! 🦸🏼‍♂️" read the caption to his post. Pegg himself seems thrilled to be playing "Hugh Sr." as the closeup photo post of his character card implies.

It is to be noted that the character Hughie in the comics was based on Pegg himself. So Pegg's inclusion in the series has opened up a great character arc opportunity. Given more screen time, we will get to know a lot about his character's past relationship with Hughie's mother and even pose questions about his involvement and his take on his son's often gruesome vigilante work.

You can rewatch the first three seasons of 'The Boys,' available on Amazon Prime Video.
