'She Would Never Know' Episode 13: Will Song-ah and Hyun-seung break-up? He doesn’t want her to go to Europe

Song-ah, who was always worried about revealing the truth regarding her dating life to her mother, managed to tell her the truth this time. Her mother also accepted it, now that she has changed her attitude towards her daughter. The confrontation that the two of them had had about her father being a cheat seems to have helped both of them. Her mother is not as dependent on her as she was before and the freedom brings Song-ah closer to her mother.

Hyun-seung also gets ready to start a long-distance relationship and even the two of them become closer while working on their respective teams fulfilling their roles. There comes a time when the two of them begin to get worried and wary around each other to ensure that the other person is not hurt. This might be the reason why Hyun-seung walked away after three years, but what exactly transpired between Song-ah and Hyun-seung when she was in Europe is something that we can only guess at.

At the end of the episode, we see how three years have passed and Hyun-seung continues to work at KLAR and he has now become a manager. In the meantime, he overhears how Song-ah is about to be promoted as the General Manager and he doesn't look happy. Instead, he looks upset and even nostalgic.

The episode doesn't show what really happened so until the very end we wonder if distance did bring a rift in their relationship or if it was someone else. After three years, the two of them end up seeing each other for the first and it doesn't look like they had planned it all. Instead, what we do see is that the two of them may be alienated from each other. When Song-ah tries to approach Hyun-seung from across the street, he walks away and that is when we know that not all is right between the two of them.

However, his sister Ji-seung has settled into a long-term relationship with Jae-shin and his young sister Yeon-seung has also come to terms with the fact that her husband might be gay and in denial. While initially she was shocked and felt betrayed, she realizes that her husband carries a lot of guilt and self-hatred. So instead of laying blame on him squarely, she tells him she will give him the divorce but she also wants to be there for him when he accepts himself. Whether he is confused, or not, she believes that he should not see being gay as abnormal or wrong. She wants him to accept himself for who he is without a doubt.

'She Would Never Know' is a tv adaptation of the webcomic 'Sunbae, Geu Lipstick Bareujimayo' which literally means 'Sunbae, Don't Put on That Lipstick' and it airs every Monday and Tuesday on JTBC. The show can be streamed on iQiyi.
