'Shark Tank' Season 12: Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about ABC family-friendly show
Season 12 of 'Shark Tank' is ready for production. Episodes of this ABC series are typically filmed in Los Angeles but the new season will be filmed completely in Las Vegas due to the Covid-19 pandemic. A Deadline article revealing production plans for the upcoming season reported that it is, "already in pre-production at an undisclosed location in Sin City, is employing a quarantine bubble, keeping the stars and crew within a single facility with COVID-19 safety protocols, including testing, in place". Release date
A premiere date for the upcoming season has not yet been revealed by ABC, however, they plan to launch Season 12 in Fall 2020 with new episodes airing, Friday nights.
Plot
The premise of the show revolves around promising up-and-coming entrepreneurs who make their business pitches to pre-eminent investors knowns as "Sharks". The successful entrepreneurs in the making involve people from all walks of life with an idea that they consider being a possible game-changer. The Sharks hear these ideas and rely on their years of experience and acumen to analyze the idea and its future and decide if they'd like to fund it and then extend a deal in case they are interested. In case multiple of them are interested in an idea/product, a bidding war of sorts is set into motion amongst them.
ABC describes the show as, "The entrepreneurs who dare to enter the tank must try to convince the sharks to part with their own hard-earned cash and give them the funding they desperately need to turn their dreams into million-dollar realities. All of the good, bad, emotional, and even absurd pitches help showcase the “I wish I had thought of that” business ideas and products. But the Sharks have a goal too: to get a return on their investment and own a piece of the next big business idea. When the sharks hear an idea worth sinking their teeth into, they’re more than ready to declare war and fight each other for a piece of it."
Cast
The Sharks are billionaire Mark Cuban, owner and chairman of AXS TV and outspoken owner of the 2011 NBA champions, Dallas Mavericks, real estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, “Queen of QVC” Lori Greiner, technology innovator Robert Herjavec, fashion and branding expert Daymond John and venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary. The show will also feature Guest Sharks, including entrepreneur Kevin Harrington, who appears on the show quite often.
