The 13-member boy group Seventeen announces their first all-English single ‘Darl+ing’ that will drop as a collaboration with Apple

Seventeen just announced the release of their first-ever all-English single that will come as a collaboration between the 13-member Pledis Entertainment boy group and the international tech brand, Apple. On April 7, Seventeen announced the release of their new single titled, ‘Darl+ling’ which will drop as a pre-release single ahead of their upcoming full album comeback. The collaboration will make Seventeen the first-ever K-pop group to team up with Apple.

While it is a well-known fact that the South Korean tech brand, Samsung is usually represented by K-pop idols, Apple’s new collaboration will mean that not one but two K-pop boy groups from HYBE are representing major tech brands. HYBE’s subsidiary, Big Hit Music’s BTS is the official global ambassador for Samsung and this collaboration with Apple will open new doors for Seventeen. The upcoming single, Seventeen introduces an interesting challenge for Carats too.

Seventeen’s first collaboration with Apple

In order to maximize their reach in South Korea as well as amongst the rest of the world, Apple is collaborating with Seventeen who has been recognized globally as the original 'self-produced idols' in the industry. For this collab, Seventeen will release their new English single, ‘Darl+ling’ (Darling) on April 15 which opens a new project for Carats, fans of Seventeen. Fans can participate in the ‘Music Lab Seventeen Remix project where fans can get creative and drop their personal remixes using their Apple devices.

The project is a 60-minute session provided by Apple and Seventeen which will help fans play with the single, ‘Darl+ling’ as well as other songs from Seventeen and make their own remixes of the track using Apple’s Garageband App. This is so that Seventeen members can see their fans get creative just like members of Seventeen did in their rookie days. While talking about the single, Seventeen members said, “It is a song that expresses the story we want to tell to Carats around the world with our own emotions. I hope you look forward to it. It’s a song that goes well with spring.”

‘I need to start saving now’

Despite fans being shocked, they started expressing how the collab will indeed benefit the Seventeen members as one fan said, “But honestly i believe apple did the right choice of choosing seventeen for their collab aaa i'm just so proud of the boys.” Another fan said, “Apple X seventeen Collab better be for a water resistant iPhone Hoshi can go swimming with.” One fan joked, “I believe...free iphone 13 to all carats.” One more fan said, “Happy i am still an apple gorll cause YES @pledis_17 you do that collab with Apple ill buy more products now.”

Another fan said, “Will you give us free iphone....?” One fan joked, “AHAHAHAHA THESE APPLE LOYALISTS (except for seungkwan) even tho samsung is a kr brand yet they are too loyal to apple lmao. There’s sooo many stories bout svt n the misfortunes with their various apple products glad they picked the right grp to collab with now about that apple ambassador.” One fan wondered, “So if iphone17 happen 4 years from now and apple decided to collab with seventeen again as ambassadors and release a  limited edition rose quartz and serenity phone color then i need to start saving right now?”
