AAA 2021: Seventeen and Mingyu trend for being supportive besties to Woozi and Wonho

We had Seventeen, especially Hoshi and Mingyu cheering for Woozi, Wonho and Astro when they won at 2021 Asia Artist Awards

Apart from seeing idols winning awards, fans love the year-end award shows and music festivals since it allows them to see interactions between their different favorite artists. This is why Seventeen and Mingyu are going viral at the 2021 Asia Artist Awards aka AAA. While a live audience was not allowed, the social distancing guidelines were laxer allowing the nominees and performers to sit in the audience instead of waiting in backstage rooms.

Well, thanks to that we got to see the artists interacting and supporting each other during their acceptance speeches. Carats (Seventeen’s fandom) especially had the time of their lives since Seventeen is known for being outgoing and friendly with other groups like Monsta X, GOT7 and Astro. And so, we got some iconic moments from Seventeen cheering for their friends at the AAA 2021 award show when Wonho, Woozi and Astro won.

Seventeen cheer Woozi and Wonho

Seventeen as a group had an eventful night as they won the main prize (bonsang) for ‘AAA Fabulous Award’ and grand prize (daesang) for ‘Singer of the Year’. Along with them, we also had member Woozi winning a solo award. With Seventeen being known for making their own music, Woozi is one of the producers who has immensely contributed to his group’s discography. And so, when he went on stage for winning ‘AAA for Best Producer’, all of Seventeen cheered him. But on top of that, fans loved that Mingyu was behaving like a stage mom as he whipped out his phone to record and take photos of Woozi on stage. Some fans even noticed Seungkwan doing the same which they found endearing.

Following the fun episode, we saw something similar recurring when Wonho and Astro won. Both acts were called on stage as Wonho won ‘AAA’s Best Musician - Solo’ and Astro won ‘AAA’s Best Musician - Group’. And while they were speaking, we had NU’EST, Seventeen and especially Hoshi screaming loudly. On top of it, fans were touched that when Wonho was announced as a winner, Mingyu immediately stood up with a proud expression followed by the rest of Seventeen. We also had Wonho thanking Seventeen in his speech for supporting and cheering him. Fans found the moment extra special since this is Wonho’s first award ceremony and first award as a soloist after leaving his former group Monsta X.

'So heart-melting'

Fans made all kinds of memes as they couldn’t get over the interactions. They made tweets like, “Hoshi supporting wonho and astro with "WAAAAAA" lol Svt making the award show more enjoyable,” “I bet hoshi screamed his lungs out upon seeing wonho in this fit,” and “SEVENTEEN & NUEST CHEERING FOR WONHO (we can literally hear hoshi screaming/fanboying).” Another fan shared, “Lmao, mingyu being an extra stage mom for wonho why is this so funny & at the same time so heart melting look how svt are proud of wonho, i really admire the friendship that they have!!”

Carats hyped up Mingyu supporting Woozi with posts like, “Mingyu is your supportive bestie yes we love to see woozi best producer !!” “Mingyu and seungkwan taking pics of woozi when he received best producer award ㅠㅠㅠㅠsvt fansite line working hard today too,” and “Get yourself a friend like Mingyu tried hard in different angles to get pics of Woozi.” One Carat added, “Proud mingyu taking vid of woozi, dokyeom, coups, and dino's reaction over hoshi shouting for woozi.”
