Seventeen 'Face The Sun': Release date, tracks, concept, and all about their fourth regular album

Seventeen's fourth full-length album titled 'Face The Sun' will have nine tracks, with the title track called 'Hot' as well as the pre-released single 'Darl+ing'

The members of Seventeen are on their way to becoming one of the most powerful boy groups in the world and Carats (fans of Seventeen) are here for it. The boy group hosted a fan meeting in Japan that had nearly 60K fans in the audience that took Twitter by storm as locals started wondering how the boy group had so many international fans. Their upcoming album titled ‘Face The Sun’ also recorded over 2 million sales ahead of its release, proving the boy group's unrivaled success one comeback after the other.

According to YG PLUS, the company that distributes Seventeen’s albums, the boy group's fourth regular album ‘Face the Sun’ has already exceeded 2 million copies sold both domestically as well as internationally, a week before their comeback, breaking their own past record. It was initially reported that Seventeen had already recorded 1.74 million preorders for the album predicting a "career high" for the group as they beat their previous record with the mini-album ‘Attacca’. Soon after this comeback, Seventeen will be meeting fans for the first time in two years for their upcoming 'Be The Sun' world tour that will start from Seoul, South Korea, and eventually move to North America.

Seventeen will release their fourth full-length album called ‘Face The Sun’ on May 27, 2022, at 1 pm KST (12 am ET).

The album ‘Face The Sun’ will include nine tracks in total alongside the pre-released single ‘Darl+ing’ which was Seventeen’s first-ever all-English song. The album will be released with the title track ‘Hot’ as well as other songs that show Seventeen’s production ability. With Woozi taking the lead by writing the lyrics and composing all nine tracks, Seventeen’s Wonwoo has been credited for co-writing the third track on the album titled ‘Don Quixote’.

Mingyu joined Woozi in writing the lyrics to ‘Domino’, while maknae Dino helped him with the writing and composition of the sixth track titled ‘Shadow’. Leader S.Coups and main dancer Hoshi helped Woozi with the lyrics of ‘If You Leave Me’, while Vernon joined the producer for the final track titled ‘Ash’ and helped with writing as well as the composition of the track. The album will be Seventeen’s fourth regular comeback and will show how the boy group is a K-pop powerhouse, proving their self-producing skills.

Concept

Over the last couple of weeks, Seventeen has released a series of concept photos to promote the release of their upcoming album ‘Face The Sun’. The first set of concept images raised a lot of questions in the minds of fans as the thirteen members of Seventeen were seen holding a flaming object in their hands as they gazed into the eyes of the viewer. The concept relates to the members of Seventeen setting ablaze the things that held them back in the past as they start to face the sun. The solo photos that have been released saw members holding burning flowers, candles, and matches against the backdrop of a desert night. The group photo saw all 13 boys walk in the direction of the sun as they were facing it without fear.

Teaser

To tease their album further, Seventeen dropped multiple clips from their upcoming music video for the title track ‘Hot’ from the album ‘Face The Sun’. In the teaser video, the boy group’s intense performance unfolds with the blazing sun. The title song ‘Hot’ is a song that combines hip-hop with the western guitar sound and depicts the story of the members of Seventeen who bravely go their own way while facing the scorching sun head-on.

Comeback show and press conference

To celebrate Seventeen's comeback, a global press conference will be held on May 27, 2022, ahead of the album's release at 11 am KST (10 pm ET). Seventeen will also hold a comeback show on May 28, at 7 pm KST (6 am ET) which will be broadcasted live worldwide through the HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, Naver Now, and Line Music.
