SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Looks like reality actress Seo Min-jae must have not thought ahead when she claimed that her boyfriend Nam Taehyun of South Club and Winner fame was using meth and hitting her. Both Taehyun and Min-jae have ended up being booked by the police over the alleged drug use and are said to be called in to be investigated.

On August 20, many were shocked when Seo Min-jae who had risen to prominence with ‘Heart Signal 3’ claimed that she was dating South Club’s singer Nam Taehyun and that he would leave meth syringes around the house and physically abuse her. With Taehyun also being a former member of the idol group Winner, even K-pop fans got invested. South Korea is extremely strict about drug use which led to the police announced that they would be investigating the next day. Immediately, Seo Min-jae said the rumors were fake and she only lashed out in anger as she had a fight with Nam Taehyun.

Seo Min-jae and Nam Taehyun booked for meth use

The South Club star who was on the survival show ‘Great Seoul Invasion’, also corroborated Min-jae’s statement by apologizing to worried fans and claiming that they had just had a couple’s fight. However, this has not stopped the police. On August 26, Yongsan police shared that they had booked Nam Taehyun, as well as Seo Min-jae under the suspicion of illegal drug use. In her initial post, the reality star had described herself and Taehyun as ‘druggies’. This has led to the police suspecting her too of meth use. The couple will be questioned regarding these allegations.

It has been reported that they will be called into the police station next week to determine whether they were indeed using meth. This follows the police complaint filed by a group of students who were preparing for their bar exam and were disturbed by Nam Taehyun and Seo Min-jae. However, in her apology letter, Min-jae claims that she was not in her right mind when she publicly accused the South Club singer of meth use.

Seo Min-jae takes back claim

Min-jae had said, “I had fought with my lover yesterday due to both of our mistakes. At that time, I had taken more than the prescribed amount of medication I was taking for psychological matters, due to stress, and I lost my senses to the point where I cannot remember what happened accurately even now. Because of that, I had uploaded posts that were unrelated to the truth and I am also now in the hospital as I got hurt mistakenly. This post comes late as I was receiving treatment. And we have reconciled with each other. I’m sorry to have worried so many people.”

Many fans are not surprised as one tweeted, “A shocker.” Another said, “This girl done got herself in trouble.” One fan added, “Well, I think we all saw that coming.” Another asked, “I mean... this is pretty much the end result of her posts… I wonder if she made this face when they got booked.” Another added, "You really can't take accusations like that back, no matter how much you try. Once you raise suspicion, it's over, they gotta investigate... yikes man..."
