In our opinion, any amount of praise for 'Search Party' is scarce. The neo-noir Black comedy series created by Michael Showalter, Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers and starring Alia Shawkat as Dory Sief, John Reynolds as Drewe Gardener, John Early as Elliot Goss, Meredith Hagner as Portia Davenport and Brandon Michael Hall as Julian Marcus is often described as the new-age millennial Nancy Drew.

HBO Max is bringing the hilarious show to its platform after the first two seasons aired on TBS. 'Search Party' follows a group of self-absorbed friends who go out in the search of a young woman and somehow find themselves entangled in one disaster after the other. When 'Search Party' last aired in December 2017, it concluded Season 2 with Dory Sief's (Alia Shawkat) arrest for the murder of Keith Powell (Ron Livingston). Since then, it has been quite the excruciating wait for fans to know what happens next.

But more importantly, makers of the series must give answers to some very pressing questions: Who ratted on Dory? Who informed the police about her involvement in the death of the private investigator? And how did the cops know where to find her?

Season 3 of 'Search Party' will be dealing with the trial of the semi-accidental murder of the private investigator Keith. Along the way, the group is going to go through hell as "the friends are pitted against each other and thrust into the national spotlight."

When Dory is arrested, both her and the audience are undoubtedly shocked. She is picked up from the celebrations of Mary Ferguson (J Smith-Cameron). When the cops put her in the car, they can be overheard saying that it was "an anonymous tip". In the trailer for the upcoming season, Elliot is seen asking Portia and Drew who exactly it was that ratted to the police betraying their best friend of years.

This almost makes you wonder since Detective Joy (Tymberlee Hill) had shut the case in Season 2 by making it seem like an encounter (in which she also had to hurt herself). If we were to make our pick from Dory's three friends, we would choose Portia - there is just something about her. Plus it is not like Dory and Portia were exactly seeing eye to eye by the end of Season 2.

Season 3 of 'Search Party' will premiere on HBO Max on June 25, 2020. Season 1 and 2 are also available to stream on the service.
