'Saturday Night Live' Season 46 Episode 19: Keegan-Michael Key to host with Olivia Rodrigo as musical guest
Episode 18 of ‘Saturday Night Live’(SNL) saw SpaceX and Tesla boss Elon Musk debuting as the host along with Miley Cyrus and The Kid Laroi as musical guests. Elon courted a lot of controversy from the day he was announced as the host as several SNL cast members opposed the idea of him hosting the popular sketch comedy show.
Elon, who caused a dip in Dogecoin after his appearance on the show, also made headlines when during his opening monologue he revealed that he had Asperger’s syndrome, which ultimately led to chaos on Twitter. Now, speaking of the next episode, comedian and TV personality Keegan-Michael Key will host SNL along with Olivia Rodrigo as the musical guest.

Key, who hails from Michigan, is best known for his Comedy Central sketch series ‘Key & Peele’ which he co-created and co-starred alongside Jordan Peele. He got his big start in the early '90s and late 2000s with SNL’s competitor Mad TV. Talking about the latest episode, the 50-year-old comedian promised it is going to be “The best SNL in 46 years”, and shared a short clip posted by the official Instagram account of SNL. If we go by his claim, it means the show has the tall order of topping the 1975 original cast of Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Garrett Morris, Jane Curtin and Laraine Newman.

Episode 19, which will be the second-last episode of Season 46, will be aired on May 15, 2021. Looking at the impressive resume of Key, there is no doubt he will floor the audience with his spectacular hosting. Following the ritual of the show, fans can, of course, expect a rib-tickling opening monologue from the actor. ‘Saturday Night Live’ is known for its slapstick comedy and sharp commentary on latest issues but with a funny twist. Keegan, who is an equally talented comedian and a sketch artist, might also give his take on current world affairs. Apart from him, Disney star Olivia Rodrigo is expected to hit the SNL stage with her hit singles such as ‘Drivers License’ and ‘Déjà Vu’.
