Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who created a lot of noise ahead of his ‘Saturday Night Live’ (SNL) debut, finally appeared on the famous show over the weekend. Just like every celebrity, the billionaire, also followed the 'SNL' tradition and opened the show with a funny monologue.

Decked in all-black formal attire, the 49-year-old business tycoon looked a bit uncomfortable while facing the cameras but managed it all with his cheeky lines. He also marked Mother’s Day by bringing his mother Maye Musk to the show. During his monologue, Elon Musk cracked a joke about being the first SNL host to have Asperger syndrome.

Does Elon Musk have Asperger syndrome?

Well, it looks like Elon Musk did have a secret to spill as he debuted as a host on SNL. While taking over the stage, one of the richest men on the planet revealed that he had Asperger’s. While addressing the audience he asserted, “I am the first SNL host to have Asperger syndrome, well, at least first to admit it.” As soon as Elon Musk shared the big news, it left a lot of social media users in shock as they were not aware of it. 

What is Asperger’s?

According to the website Healthline, Asperger syndrome (AS) is one of a group of neurological disorders known as autism spectrum disorders (ASDs). The syndrome is considered to be on the mild end of the spectrum. People with AS exhibit three primary symptoms such as having difficulty with social interaction, engaging in repetitive behavior, standing firm on what they think, and focusing on rules and routines. According to the same website, a few people with ASDs are also classified as high-functioning which means these people don’t have delayed language skills and cognitive development.

Elon Musk revealing about having Asperger syndrome led to chaos on the Internet as social media users stormed Twitter to speak about the same. One user stated, “Elon’s mannerisms are insane this man is a literal ALIEN #SNL” Another posted, “I didn’t know Elon Musk had Asperger’s and now I feel like I can’t make fun of him. #SNL” One SNL viewer asserted, “Elon Musk says he’s the first person with asperger’s to host SNL. Didn’t realize he had asperger’s”. Another posted, “Elon Musk is the first person with Asperger syndrome to host SNL. Remarkable. Now buy $DOGE!” The next one tweeted, “Elon Musk saying he has Asperger Syndrome and also  being weird as f**k is amazing. #SNL” Another concluded, “Elon Musk just admitted to having asperger's live on SNL but I honestly can't tell if it's a joke.”
