We have always loved the fantasy realm of Marvel Cinematic Universe. With superheroes like Thor, Ms Marvel, Wandavision, Lady Thor, and Captain Marvel who are a part of the avid ‘Marvel’ fandom all around the world, even ‘Groot’ has its own fan club. Marvel Studios officially unveiled its first short trailer for the series ‘I Am Groot’ at the SDCC 2022 panel on Saturday, July 23. The series has been helmed and also written by Kirsten Lepore. The Hollywood megastar Vin Diesel has lent his voice to the main lead character ‘Groot’ in the animation series.

According to Disney Plus, the official description reads, “I Am Groot” is a collection of five original shorts starring Baby Groot, everyone’s favorite little tree, and will feature several new and unusual characters.”

The trailer starts with a logline in bold words that states, “From the studios that brought you Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game. Comes a hero of few words”. Amid this logline, we see a totally dystopian world with some small unique creatures. Then we see the main tree-seedling character ‘Groot’ who is standing on a mountain top where he says the most iconic dialogue, ‘I Am Groot.’ In the next scene, we see that a rock opens up which has a gun in it that attempts at shooting Groot. Soon he is surrounded by enemies that want to kill him. They all are shown as coming from the space with a common purpose of wanting to end Groot. Then he produces a tree leaf which is eaten by the dystopian world creatures happily. Then we see Groot happily walking in the forest with a multicolored scarf saying ‘I Am Groot’. We see many new glimpses of Groot as a dancer, detective, in a tree dress, listening to music and so on. Overall, this trailer was a perfect blend of action, comedy, drama, war and fantasy which is why the fans' curiosity has surely spiked up to watch it unfurl on Disney + in August. This trailer has been shared by Discussing Films on their official Twitter handle.

The fans bashed the trailer on social media citing it will be a kids' version of Marvel series. They said that this could be a way to gain back their loyalty and appease them for not bashing the makers each time. Many of them opined that they are ashamed to see that the level and quality of Marvel has downgraded so badly that now they've all come down to this level after making classic films like 'Iron Man'.

As soon as the trailer got released, many fans started bashing and slamming the makers on Twitter. “This is easily the most unnecessary MCU project so far. This is an unfortunate waste of CGI that could have easily gone to a more deserving project,” said a fan. “Holy shit this looks awful,” shared a fan. “This is NOT Scrat Tales. It probably won't be as good. If this project sucks ass, I will avoid any sort of Marvel content that is non Spider Verse for good,” a fan noted. “I mean Groot is cute and all but was this really needed?,” another fan mentioned. “Go watch the first Iron Man and then tell me you aren’t ashamed what the MCU has become,” added a fan. “No one cares about baby groot anymore wouldn’t this of made more sense to do with grogu,” a fan shared. “Bruh is there even a story ? Lmao every line will be 'i am Groot'. It will get irritating. Or its a silent show,” shared a fan. “I don't have "few words" for this. This is ridiculous! #IAmGroot,” a fan said. “Marvel sucks now,” another fan added.
