LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on Sunday, February 26, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California, and one of the most anticipated categories of the night was Outstanding Lead Actor in a Motion Picture (Female). If you have followed the awards season closely, then you know how close the fight has been, and winning a SAG award means that an actor is still in the Oscars race. It seems Cate Blanchett has a tough road ahead as Michelle Yeoh edged the ‘TAR’ actress to win the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Leading Role (Female) accolade for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.

Everything Everywhere All at Once’ explores the lives of a Chinese Immigrant family, led by an exhausted Evelyn Quan Wang (Played by Yeoh), who runs a laundromat and is about to be audited by the IRS. However, her life turns upside when she travels through the multiverse and fights a villain who is actually really close to her life in real life. Yeoh received universal acclaim for her performance and the movie became one of the best-reviewed movies of 2022. The film has won more than 200 awards during the ongoing awards season.
