BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Cate Blanchett entered the history books when she won the Best Actress accolade at this year’s Golden Globes for her impeccable performance in Todd Field’s ‘TAR’. The movie saw her playing the role of a renowned musician Lydia Tar who is days away from recording the symphony that will take her career to a whole new level. However, things turn upside down when people start to conspire against her and the only emotional support she gets is from her adopted daughter, Petra. The movie received universal acclaim and Blanchett was praised for her acting.

With her best actress in a drama category win, the Oscar-winning actress broke a record at the 80th annual Golden Globe awards and became the joint-most-awarded actress in the category with three wins. Only three female actors have been able to win three best actress trophies in the history of the prestigious event, including Meryl Streep, Jane Fonda, and Ingrid Bergman. However, all the aforementioned names (except Blanchett) won two consecutive trophies.
