BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: The 80th Golden Globes ceremony is currently being held in California and comedian-turned-actor Jarrod Carmichael is hosting the event this year. The night started with Ke Huy Quan winning the Best Supporting Actor trophy for ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ and the movie just kept the ball rolling with another major victory at the prestigious event. Michelle Yeoh, who was considered to be a frontrunner for the Best Actress (Comedy) accolade, took home the beautiful trophy for her role in the aforementioned movie.

The actress played the role of Evelyn, a Chinese immigrant who gets unwillingly embroiled in an epic adventure where she must connect different versions of herself in the parallel universe to stop someone who intends to harm the multiverse. The movie turned out to be a huge success for Yeoh and became one of the most profitable movies of 2022. It was also one of the most well-reviewed movies of the year and has won over 130 accolades.

Thank you A24 for believing in these two goofy, insanely smart, wonderful geniuses, [directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert], who had the courage to write about a very ordinary immigrant, aging woman, mother, daughter.”

Fans couldn’t hold their excitement as soon as Yeoh’s name was announced from the stage and expressed their happiness by letting the actor know how much they love her. One of the fans said, “Congrats. Never a doubt! Thank you for sharing your journey & strength.” Another fan tweeted, “Congratulations queen well deserved.”
