Curtis edged past fellow nominees such as Angela Bassett (‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’), Hong Chau (‘The Whale’), Kerry Condon (‘The Banshees of Inisherin’), and Stephanie Hsu (‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’) to win the trophy.

The actress was really emotional while collecting her trophy and said that she loves acting to the core and didn’t shy away from calling herself “nepo baby.” She added, “My parents were actors, I’m married to an actor — I love actors. I know that so many people in our industry who are actors don’t get to do this job, and you look at nights like this and think, ‘Is that ever going to be possible for me?’ And I know you look at me and think, ‘Well, nepo baby, that’s why she’s there.’ I totally get it. But the truth of the matter is I’m 64 years old, and this is just amazing.”

However, Curtis didn’t shy away from showing her love for Michelle Yeoh during the ceremony and kissed her before going to the stage. The moment was captured on the camera and all the other actors sitting around them just clapped in excitement. Without any guesses, the clip made its way to social media and users couldn’t keep calm as soon as they got to know that Curtis and Yeoh kissed.

One of the fans wrote, “Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Yeoh kissing??? I’m here for it.” Another fan noted, “Dhdhdhdh Michelle Yeoh hugging Jamie Lee Curtis and then kissing her… I AM DECEASED FR.” Another social media user tweeted, “JAMIE LEE CURTIS AND MICHELLE YEOH SCREAMING.” Another fan noted, “Jamie Lee Curtis and Michelle Yeoh just kissed on the lips.
