'Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood' star Safaree Samuels apologizes to Lyrica Anderson, says 'never came close to messing around'

In 2018, Safaree revealed to Ray that he had ties with Lyrica that went beyond simple business affairs while she was still married to A1 Bentley and expecting the latter's child

HOUSTON, TEXAS: Lyrica Anderson has received a long-overdue apology from Safaree Samuels. Nearly four years after alleging they slept together in the past, Nicki Minaj's ex-boyfriend turned to social media to issue a public apology to his old 'Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood' co-star.

Viewers of 'Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood' were stunned to find that Safaree and Lyrica Anderson had been doing more than simply messaging. During a 2018 episode of 'LHHH,' the 'Hunnid' rapper became agitated as his friend Ray J pressed him about "smashing" Lyrica. Both Safaree and the then 29-year-old agreed to contact each other for business purposes, but denied any other motive. Ray eventually coaxed the truth out of Safaree, claiming that Lyrica had previously admitted to her husband A1 that she and the Jamaican native had slept together. "Like I didn't mean for it to happen, it's just we be talking, and we were supposed to get on a song," the rapper said at the time.

"I just saw that LHH special with Hollywood and I just want to make it clear that me & Lyrica have never even came close to messing around," the 41-year-old revealed on Thursday, November 10, in a Twitter post. "lowkey me & A1 made the whole thing up. We on TV we had a job to do and we did it. That's my brother & sister right der. It's TV tho duh."

"It wasn't was supposed to go as far as it did so just wanna say sorry to you @lyricaanderson because I didn't know it bothered you," he wrote in a later tweet. "I'm not gonna lie tho that was the most fun I ever had filming tho. Me & A1 use to be crying [several crying laughing emojis] love y’all."

Lyrica at the time told The Breakfast Club: "I never slept with Safaree, I’ve bever been alone with Safaree. I don’t know what crazy girl is talking about, I don’t know what droopy booty is on. I have had no relations with that man. Safaree claims that he said a joke to her [K. Michelle]—and she took it ran with it."

Lyrica was pregnant during the time of the adultery charges, and A1 and his close family wanted a paternity test. He reunited with her once it was determined that A1 is the father. On November 30, 2018, they welcomed their baby, Ocean Zion Bentley. Meanwhile, it was revealed in January of this year that Lyrica had filed for divorce from A1. Safaree's divorce from Erica Mena was finalized in September.
