‘Too creepy’: ‘sMothered’ fans unimpressed by Kathy’s funeral birthday party hosted by daughter Cristina
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: During the latest ninth episode of 'sMothered' Season 5, Cristina Bertolli organized a birthday funeral party for her mom Kathy Crispino on the occasion of her 65th birthday. Fans of the TLC show witnessed Cristina as she gave an emotional eulogy at her mother Kathy's funeral-themed birthday.
At one point, in the episode, Cristina said, "Those of you who knew my mom understand nothing about her life was normal." Cristina affectionately referred to her mother as the 'Da Vinci of Party Planners,' but eventually became emotional. Kathy got teary-eyed listening to Cristina's eulogy, but Carly reminded her that their mother was still alive. However, it appears that 'sMothered' fans were not impressed by Kathy's funeral birthday party.

Cristina was initially unsure about the idea of Kathy's funeral birthday party
Kathy and Cristina share a passion for event planning. In the Season 5 premiere, Cristina revealed, "We probably plan between 10 to 15 parties a year." Cristina detailed her ideas for celebrating her mother's unique birthday, including decorating the funeral home with holiday-themed colors. Kathy, who has a strong fear of missing out, opted for a distinctive birthday party resembling a funeral to celebrate her life while she's still alive. Though Kathy joked about Cristina "jumping out of a coffin," Cristina found the idea uncomfortable and couldn't see the humor in it.
