LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Peter Farrelly's highly-anticipated movie 'Ricky Stanicky' dropped on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, March 7. While the feel-good movie boasts a stellar cast, 'Ricky Stanicky' falls flat with forced comedy and wasted potential.

'Ricky Stanicky' follows the lives of childhood buddies Dean (Zac Efron), Wes (Jermaine Fowler), and JT (Andrew Santino). In the aftermath of a childhood prank gone awry, Dean spontaneously concocts the fictional character Ricky Stanicky to extricate themselves from trouble with the law.

Unbelievably, the name becomes a legendary figure among the trio, embodying the "best friend they never had" according to their unspoken bro code.

Employing Ricky as their imaginary ally becomes their escape from the responsibilities of adulthood, a convenient excuse even with their significant others.

Yet, when circumstances force them to admit that Ricky Stanicky isn't real, they enlist the services of a hapless actor, Rod (John Cena), to bring their imaginary friend to life.

Does Erin find out about Ricky Stanicky's true identity?

As 'Ricky Stanicky' approaches its climax, Dean's girlfriend, Erin (Lex Scott Davis), returns home to address the peculiar situation surrounding Ricky Stanicky (John Cena).

Upon questioning Dean, she begins to suspect the veracity of his tale, especially regarding Ricky Stanicky's supposed mission to assist with the Ebola situation in Nairobi, a claim made during JT's son's bris.

Given Erin's background as a journalist, her curiosity gets the better of her. She starts investigating and discovers that there are no reported cases of Ebola in Nairobi, and furthermore, vaccinations are readily available for the disease.

Armed with this information, Erin confronts Dean about the inconsistencies in his story, pointing out the fallacy of Ricky's mission.

Utilizing her investigative skills, Erin delves deeper into the mystery surrounding Ricky Stanicky and uncovers his true identity – Rock Hard Rod.

Erin's revelation leaves Dean to reckon with the consequences of his elaborate ruse and Erin to confront the reality hidden behind the fictional facade.

As Erin digs deeper into the truth behind Rock Hard Rod, the man hired by Dean and his friends to impersonate Ricky Stanicky, she stumbles upon a complex web of challenges that Rod has faced in his life.

To her surprise, Rod is not just a struggling actor but also a pornographic singer, a fraudulent impersonator, and a person grappling with alcoholism.

The climax of 'Ricky Stanicky' unfolds at the merger event of Dean and JT's company, where an interview with Ricky Stanicky is played for the audience.

In a heartfelt revelation, Rod, the man behind the Ricky Stanicky persona, discloses his real identity as "Rock Hard Rod."

He candidly shares his struggles as an alcoholic and a failed celebrity impersonator, highlighting the emptiness in his life before Dean and his friends approached him.

In the interview, Rod expresses profound gratitude for the trio, emphasizing how they gave him a chance to turn his life around.

He reveals that he had never experienced true friendship before, and the camaraderie with Dean, Wes, and JT transformed his life.

The ending brings closure to each character's arc, showcasing Dean and JT's journey towards self-acceptance and their girlfriends' evolving understanding, ultimately learning to forgive them.

'Ricky Stanicky' is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video
