‘Real Housewives of Orange County’: Fans slam Gina for blaming Emily and constantly demanding 'sympathy and support' from her
Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson have been friends on ‘Real Housewives of Orange County’ from the start. Emily has consistently been there for Gina and helped Gina through her rough patches. But this season (season 14), we are beginning to see some cracks develop between the two friends.
This season we see Gina getting closer to Shannon Beador because she feels like nobody apart from Shannon gets what she is going through. She enjoys the company of Shannon so much that she goes and tells Emily that Shannon is her new best friend, much to Emily’s annoyance. Emily is hurt but doesn’t say anything to Gina.
In episode 8, which aired on September 24, we see Gina getting into a heated argument with Kelly Dodd. When Emily goes to console Gina, she snaps at Emily and calls her a bad friend for not being there for her like Shannon. Gina also goes on to blame Emily that she is so caught up with her marital issues with Shane, that she doesn’t have time for Gina.
Fans did not appreciate Gina’s harsh words to Emily and called her out for being “unreasonable” and needy. A fan tweeted, “I’m sick of Gina. Emily has been a great friend to her. She’s being completely unreasonable about the level of “sympathy and support” she thinks she should be getting from Emily. I mean Emily is married to Shane. Fucking SHANE. Where is her sympathy and support? #RHOC #BravoTV”.
Fans are firmly taking Emily’s side and expressed the same on social media. A fan wrote, “On Gina vs Emily I’m totally team Emily. Yes Emily is probably going thru some stuff w/her hubs but she’s been the best friend to Gina consistently. Gina is not having a good year, but chill out on your friend! #RHOC”. Another fan shared, “Emily has been nothing but a good friend. Gina, shut the FUCK UP. #RHOC”. Fans also think that Gina is mad if she believes Shannon is her friend. “Gina must be insane if she thinks shannon is actually a friend to her #RHOC”.
