BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: The 2022 People’s Choice Awards was quite eventful for the ‘Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ cast. The stars of the popular BravoTV series were nominated for multiple coveted awards at the function, including the categories Best Reality TV Show and Best Reality TV Star. But while the ladies may have gone home empty-handed, a few of them did manage to stir up some juicy drama at the awards ceremony, especially Kathy Hilton.

Kathy, who was already embroiled in a major feud involving castmates Erika Jayne, Lisa Rinna, and Kyle Richards in the Season 12 reunion of ‘RHOBH’, is now the center of yet another controversial moment. The mother of socialite Paris Hilton was caught live during the 2022 People’s Choice Awards seemingly disrespecting Mariska Hargitay as she applied lipgloss during the ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ actress’ heartfelt speech. Now, after receiving a ton of backlash from the Internet for her "inconsiderate" actions, the Beverly Hills housewife has declared that she’s sorry for the unfortunate incident.

In an interview with ExtraTV, the ‘RHOBH’ housewife opened up about her side of the viral moment. “I actually thought I was going to sneeze, and you don’t want to hear me sneeze, it’s the loudest sneeze,” Kathy explained to the outlet days after the controversial moment. She continued, “So I was looking for a tissue, and I didn’t have a tissue or a hanky, so I got a little nervous and just put some lipstick on.”

The Beverly Hills Housewife continued to explain, “It was during her speech, so I thought, the camera’s not going to be on me. I didn’t think I was in that shot.” She further elaborated, “I adore, and I respect Mariska very much, and I already have reached out to her, DMed her, I want to get her address, I feel terrible.” Kathy stated. “I would never do anything to be rude intentionally, and I’m really sorry. It was my first time being back on stage with some of the girls, too.” The ‘RHOBH’ star said, “I apologize, Mariska. I’m really sorry, and I look forward to talking to you.”

Kathy’s “viral” moment had caused netizens to lash out at the star and deem her “rude” and “cringe” while also claiming she was “entitled and aloof.”
