Oh My Girl's Arin missing from 'Resurrection' poster, fans accuse tvN of 'using her'
It hasn’t been smooth running for tvN’s latest K-drama ‘Resurrection’ aka ‘Return’. It was previously delayed as they had to let go of the female lead actress played by Park Hye-eun as they felt she did not suit the role. Production resumed after they cast Jung So-min of ‘D-Day’ fame. But K-pop fans were especially excited as the K-drama also has idol actors, NU’EST’s Minhyun and Oh My Girl’s Arin. 'Resurrection' is a fantastical K-drama about an elite female warrior who is reborn as a maid in the male lead's family.
With ‘Resurrection’ almost getting completed, tvN has started rolling out the synopsis, premiere date, press releases and posters. However, Oh My Girl’s Arin is not in the character posters nor is she part of the main cast. On K-drama databases, she has been credited with a supporting role while her character name is not even mentioned. Oh My Girl’s fans pointed out that initially the drama was promoted with the angle that Arin would be starring as the second female lead.

Arin missing from ‘Resurrection’ character poster
On March 3, tvN released a character poster of the cast of ‘Resurrection’. Along with the five main leads, the poster also includes Jo Jae-yoon and Shin Seung-ho who play the supporting roles of Jinmu and Crown Prince Go-won respectively. Oh My Girl fans claim that even Arin could have been on the poster though she has a supporting role. They pointed out that tvN was just using her name for clout.
‘All they did was use her reputation’
One angry fan tweeted, “tVN and media keep using Arin's name & popularity to promote this drama as if she's one of the main leads but it turns out she will play a supporting role, which is still a big role.” Another fan added, “Arin has been promoting “reiturn” even more than tvn themselves since the beginning and all they did was use her reputation for attention and clout.” One posted, “Where's arin tvn? You made us believe arin was a part of the main role with all of those articles and now? Don't use her for clout she worked hard for this and we waited for a whole damn year for you to just use her name like what?”
It's a misunderstood tbh. tVN and media keep using Arin's name & popularity to promote this drama as if she's one of the main leads but it turns out she will play a supporting role, which is still a big role.

A Korean fan shared, “Are you... crazy? Our actress, Arin, was proud of how well y’all were doing! What are you doing without her image?” Another was blunt, “I was really looking forward to this drama because of Arin, but since Arin isn't here... I think I wasted my time waiting.” One fan explained why they were angry, “We're okay with Arin being support role IF you didn't tease the drama as if she was actually main. You didn't get clout, you got the fury of both kr and intl fandom for doing this.”
