tvN's 'Resurrection' Full Cast List: Star lineup includes new female lead Jung So Min
tvN’s blockbuster fantasy romance series 'Resurrection' is all set with a new cast. The filming of the series was disrupted in 2021 after the production team felt an emergency change in the female lead was necessary. But now, it’s all set with a new cast and a fresh start and the filming is expected to be wrapped in 2022 itself.
'Resurrection,' a fictional historical fantasy genre set in Dae-Ho, shows the story of young people who have their futures tied to their mastery of spiritual arts to control their ‘chi’ (lifeforce). On July 8, 2021, there was an casting emergency related to the series' female lead. According to an industry insider, actress Park Hye Eun was "dropped from the cast of tvN's anticipated drama 'Resurrection' due to her poor acting." Previously, rookie actress Park Hye Eun gained fame after being cast as the female lead in 'Resurrection,' following her participation in 'The School Nurse Files.' Park Hye Eun was set to collaborate with Lee Jae Wook, Minhyun from NU'EST, Arin from Oh My Girl, and others. According to reports, Park Hye Eun had finished her script reading with the rest of the cast members and bagged the role. However, shortly after the cast began filming, the production team determined that Park Hye Eun's acting was unsuitable for the female lead part. Later tvN released a statement saying, "Despite being a rookie actress, Park Hye Eun worked hard to prepare for her role; however, she felt immense pressure as the drama's female lead. As a result, the production staff held lengthy discussions with Park Hye Eun and came to a settlement respecting the opinions of both sides." The production team has, since then, updated its cast list and the female lead is now being played by Jung So Min.

In 2020, Jung starred in the medical television series 'Soul Mechanic.'
NU’EST member Minhyun took the role of Seo Yool, a fellow nobleman's son who is also a genius in the spiritual arts. tvN's 'Resurrection' also includes actors Shin Seung Ho, Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, Jo Jae Yoon.
The series is set to premiere in 2022. Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran, known as the ‘Hong Sisters,’ are the authors behind ‘Resurrection’ and are well-known for writing 'My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho' and 'Hotel Del Luna.’ Viewers are excited about the new cast lineup and the series is set to drop soon after filming is wrapped up.
