'Welcome': Oh My Girl's Arin, NU'EST's Minhyun to star as 2nd leads in tvN K-drama
Hwang Jangsoo and Shin Seungho, makers of the K-drama 'DP', will now work on a new K-drama from Hong Sisters, titled 'Welcome' which will see a star-studded cast including Oh My Girl's Arin and NU'EST's Minhyun.
The Hong sisters — Hong Jungeun and Hong Miran — are notable South Korean television screenwriters who work as a duo and are currently managed by Studio Dragon. Together, the sisters have written popular romantic comedies like 2005's 'My Girl', 2009's 'You're Beautiful', 'My Girlfriend Is a Nine-Tailed Fox' from 2010, 'Master's Sun' from 2013 and the 2019 K-drama 'Hotel del Luna'.

Arin and Minhyun join drama cast
The new K-drama scripted by the Hong sisters will see a power-packed cast of actors: Lee Jaewook, Park Haeeun, Shin Seungho, Yoo Junsang, Joo Sangwook, and Oh Nara. Also joining the cast are two K-pop idols who will add to the glamor of the show. Reports say that Oh My Girl's Arin will join the cast of 'Welcome' alongside NU'EST's Hwang Minhyun.
'Welcome' deals with young magicians who have to work around a heavenly spirit. News sources confirmed back in April of 2021 that 'Extraordinary You' and 'Do Dol Sol Sol La La Sol' actor Lee Jaewook and actress Park Haeeun from the 2020 drama 'The School Nurse Flies' will appear in the lead roles.
Arin and Minhyun will star as second leads
This will be Arin's second acting project after she was confirmed as the cast member of the Netflix series 'Goedam 2'. Other than that, Arin was last seen as the MC of KBS2's music show 'Music Bank' opposite TXT's Soobin.
In April, Minhyun's agency Pledis Entertainment also reported that he had received a casting offer and is positively reviewing the same. Pledis Entertainment gave their official statement saying: "We are discussing positively after receiving an offer to appear in tvN's new drama 'Welcome'." Minhyun has acted in a few projects in the past. He made his debut in the year 2013 from the MBC drama, 'Reckless Family 3' and then appeared as the supporting cast for the 2014 movie 'Their Distance'. He also appeared on JTBC's drama 'Live On' in the main role in 2020.
