Social media sensation Addison Rae is set to make her Hollywood debut in Netflix’s upcoming movie ‘He’s All That’. The movie is a reimagining of the 1999 movie ‘She’s All That’ and revolves around a young social media influencer name Padgett (Rae) and her extraordinary life. However, things get upside down when her humiliating on-camera breakup goes viral, creating a dent in her popularity and reputation.

Padgett should do something to save her reputation as she makes a bet to turn scruffy antisocial Cameron (Tanner Buchanan) into prom king material.

Addison Rae’s involvement in the project would be really massive for Netflix as a lot of her followers on TikTok might subscribe to the platform just to see their favorite media personality in her first-ever feature film. Before ‘He’s All That’, Rae gave her voice in the German-Belgian animated movie ‘Spy Cat’. So, technically the upcoming Netflix movie will be her big Hollywood debut.

Release date and how to watch

The upcoming movie will be premiering exclusively on Netflix on Friday, August 27, at 3 am EST. Viewers can download the app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Netflix is also available on Apple TV, Google Chromecast, and Portal from Facebook. Viewers can also opt for different subscription plans provided by the streaming giant. A premium plan that allows more people to watch the service on different screens simultaneously, costs $18 per month. Meanwhile, the basic US plan costs $9 per month.

Plot

“In this reimagining of 1999’s ‘She’s All That’, teen social media influencer Padgett’s humiliating on-camera breakup goes viral, leading her to make a risky bet to save her reputation: She swears she can turn scruffy antisocial Cameron into prom king material. But things get complicated when she finds herself falling for him IRL.”

Cast

Addison Rae will be portraying the lead character of Padgett Sawyer in the movie. Rae has been one of the most popular media celebrities in recent years. She rose to fame with her amazing dance videos on the video-sharing platform TikTok. As of July 2021, Rae has 82.6 million followers on the platform and is only behind Khabane Lame (102.9 million) and Charlie D. Amelio (122.5 million).

Meanwhile, Tanner Buchanan will play Cameron Kweller. The actor is best known for his roles in projects such as ‘Designated Survivor’, ‘Cobra Kai’ and ‘The Fosters’.



 

Other actors to feature in the movie include Madison Petis (Alden), Rachel Leigh Cook (Mrs. Sawyer), Peyton Meyer (Jordan Van Draanen), Myra Molloy (Quinn), Isabelle Crovetti (Brin Kweller), and Kourtney Kardashian.

The film is being directed by Mark Waters, who is known for helming comedy projects like ‘Vampire Academy’, ‘Mean Girls’ and ‘Freaky Friday’. Meanwhile, Andrew Panay, Jennifer Gibgot, and Bill Block serve as producers on the film.

The trailer shows Padgett Sawyer (Rae) losing the beauty brand sponsorship after an Instagram Live did not go as expected. To save her reputation, she makes a bet with her friend that she can transform an anti-social peer that no one cares about into the school’s prom king. The film looks like a fun ride with an enchanting love story.
