‘Record Breaker Stay Alive’: BTS Jungkook’s 1st OST breaks 14 records in 24 hours
Fans were over the moon when it was announced that BTS’ youngest member would finally be getting his own solo OST (original soundtrack). Produced by Suga, Jungkook’s ‘Stay Alive’ is also the first OST of their original webtoon ‘7FATES: Chakho’. Well, for dropping such a masterpiece, ARMY decided to hype it up by helping it break 14 records in the first 24 hours of its release.
On February 12, ‘Record Breaker Stay Alive’ started trending as ARMY realized that the BTS star's OST was exceeding their streaming goals with ‘Stay Alive’ topping numerous charts. Jungkook’s first solo OST went as far as to debut at #1 on Genius Korea’s K-OST Chart, Bugs and Billboard’s Hot Trending Chart while the music video topped YouTube Video Trending Worldwide Chart. It peaked at #1 on five of Amazon’s Digital Songs Charts like Songs Best Seller and Songs New Releases.

Jungkook’s 1st solo OST ‘Stay Alive’ breaks 14 records
‘Stay Alive’ is also #1 on iTunes Worldwide, European iTunes and in 98 countries like USA and UK making it the solo with the most #1s on iTunes. The BTS member's pop ballad also became the fastest solo song to get the most #1s on iTunes. It is the first and fastest song by a Korean soloist to top iTunes in the eight major iTunes regions – USA, UK, Japan, France, Canada, Australia, Netherlands and Germany. It is also the solo song to get the most #1s on iTunes on the day it was released, i.e. in 87 regions and Jungkook did it in 10 hours as ‘Stay Alive’ dropped at 2 pm KST (12 am ET).
'Stay Alive' also became the fastest Korean solo song to reach #1 in 80 and 90 countries in just six and 13 hours of its release respectively. It also became the first Korean OST to debut at #6 on Japan’s Line Music Daily Chart and the first OST by a Korean soloist to peak at #2 on Line Real-Time Chart. Jungkook also became the only Korean male soloist to debut on Apple Music’s US Pop and K-pop Genre charts and get 41k Shazams in the first 24 hours. On its release, Jungkook also became the most followed Korean Spotify artist and Asian act in the first 24 hours with more than 573k followers while ‘Stay Alive’ got the most #1s for a Korean OST on Apple Music.
‘Feels like a fever dream’
Jungkook’s OST was trending hours before its release and stayed on top of Twitter trends six hours into its release. And now happy fans made tweets like, “Jungkook keeps on breaking records after records! So proud & well deserved.” Another ARMY posted, “Have you ever cried in those 24 hours because you’re just so PROUD and happy for everything that Stay Alive is achieving, and to see JUNGKOOK name in all those charts knowing that he deserves all of this?.. RECORD BREAKER STAY ALIVE.”
