There couldn't have been a more appropriate title for the upcoming horror 'Ready or Not', focusing on how wrong one's meeting with their in-laws for the first time can go. Sure, for a bride, everything does seem super tense when it comes to the first impression fo their in-laws, but add to the mix a fancy mansion and the mystery of who is behind the horror, and voila — you have the Samara Weaving starrer which is releasing this weekend. 'Ready or Not' is arriving in theaters on Friday, August 23.
Plot
According to the official synopsis of the film, "A bride's wedding night takes a sinister turn when her eccentric new in-laws force her to take part in a terrifying game." The game in context is a gory ritual where the bride is being hunted by her in-laws for some bizarre sacrifice. Clearly, things can never end well in this scenario, and most certainly not without some significant deaths. The bride, Grace's in-laws are the wealthy owners of a board game empire and are not hesitant to do away with traditional fancy dinners to make room for ritualistic sacrifices of the latest member of their family. Exciting!

Directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin - the duo behind the '10/31/98' segment of 2012 horror film 'V/H/S', 'Ready or Not' has been written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. James Vanderbilt, Tripp Vinson, William Sherak and Bradley J. Fischer, are producing alongside Tara Farney, Chad Villella, Daniel Bekerman and Tracey Nyberg serving as executive producers.
Cast
Samara Weaving, star of the 2017 Netflix horror 'The Babysitter', will be playing the role of the bride, Grace. Joining her in this insane story will be Mark O’Brien ('Halt and Catch Fire') s Grace's husband, Alex Le Domas. The OC's Adam Brody stars as Alex's brother, Daniel Le Domas, alongside an all-star cast of Andie McDowell and Henry Czerny.
