Rain to host the prequel audition program 'Be Mbitious' for Mnet's 'Street Man Fighter'
Looks like a lot of audition tapes for the Mnet dance variety show ‘Street Man Fighter’ are rolling in with popular idols like Kino from Pentagon, U from ONF, and BM of Kard. Not only idols but dancers like Kasper, Netflix’s ‘Single's Inferno’ fame Cha Hyunseung as well as other famous trainees like Samuel, Taehyun from the survival show ‘Produce 101’ as well as Baekjin from the survival show ‘Produce X101’ are all auditioning for the dance-based survival program.
Looks like the name of legendary dance sensation and K-pop idol Rain will now be linked to the Mnet show in some way. The show is the male counterpart of the viral female dance crew show ‘Street Woman Fighter’ that had fans and K-pop idols biting their nails in 2021. To cater to the demands of fans who had been wishing for a male counterpart of the same show, Mnet has announced the release of ‘Street Man Fighter’.

Rain to host the audition program ‘Be Mbitious’
The show will feature some of the big names of the K-pop and Korean dance industry but in order to be selected to compete in the show, the production house has announced an audition program called ‘Be Mbitious’ (Be Ambitious). The audition program is where all the audition tape submissions will be assessed and the top contenders will be selected before being allowed to join the lineup of contestants participating in the show with Mnet.
Other than being known for being a K-pop idol, Rain also became a dancing sensation back in the day when currently popular idols mimicked his dance moves, particularly what he did with his viral hit ‘Rainism’. Now as a representative of dance in all of K-pop, Rain will be the MC aka host of the audition program. The audition program 'Be Mbitious' with MC Rain will first broadcast on May 24, 2022, at 10:20 pm KST (9:20 am ET) on Mnet.

Rain talks about being an MC
The production team of ‘Be Mbitious’ revealed that the reason behind looping Rain into the show was that many applicants had submitted performances dancing to Rain’s hits from the past and he was the perfect name to be associated with the show. Not only is Rain a role model for many young idols but he is also known to have amazing synergy with young idols in his interactions, be it Ateez members as well as Stray Kids. Many interactions with the younger generation of idols featuring the ever-young Rain show how down to earth he is but his talent as a dancer is unmissable to this day.
The production team of Mnet’s ‘Be Mbitious’ stated that Rain will not come into the program as an evaluator but just as a senior (sunbae) with generous advice and cool judgments to his juniors (hoobaes) who will audition for the show. Talking about his contribution to the show, Rain said, “I am delighted to be working on ‘Be Mbitious’, which will be the beginning of Mnet’s ‘Street Man Fighter’. I sincerely hope that this year will also be a year of dancers.”
