'Queendom 2' Ep 4: Hyolyn wins 2nd time with a full score, fans say 'Korea's Beyonce'

Hyolyn wins round 2, getting a perfect score for the second time in a row on the survival show after performing Loona's 'So What'

For now, we have a frontrunner for ‘Queendom 2’ and it is surprisingly none other than Hyolyn. After winning for the second time in a row in round 1 and round 2, her fans confessed that they were initially not sure how they could help Hyolyn in the global voting criteria since they are a small fandom. But it doesn’t look small since even Pentagon’s Hongseok went as far as to call Hyolyn ‘Korea’s Beyonce’.

In 'Queendom 2' Episode 4, we got the remaining performances of round 2 where the mission was to swap songs with another contestant. Viviz covered WJSN’s ‘Unnatural’. They were followed by Kep1er who did a remix of Brave Girls’ ‘Pool Party’ and ‘Rollin’. The last participant to perform was Hyolyn. She picked the 12-member group Loona and performed their songs ‘So What’ and ‘Paint The Town’. While everyone had wondered how she would top the explosive tropical stage of ‘Touch My Body’ from round 1, Hyolyn went out and more. Viewers were already hyped up since the teaser showed her hanging from the ceiling in a ring as she channeled her inner Catwoman.

Hyolyn becomes an acrobat for round 2

We had Hyolyn singing, rapping, dancing, acting, doing acrobatic tricks, and committing to the Catwoman concept all in one performance which blew even the minds of the participants. After the performance, WJSN’s Eunseo went as far as to declare that Hyolyn would be in the first place. Hyolyn won round 2 with full scores in every criteria and a total of 10,000 points. Fans trended Hyolyn as they made tweets like, “Funny how Hyolyn, a soloist got perfect score TWICE at Group-centered Survival Show.” Another fan posted, “Hongseok from pentagon said hyolyn is korea's beyonce and he's so right.”

One fan added a Beyonce meme, “Me after Hyolyn's perfect all kill announcement for two round straight in a row:.” Another commented, “FROM SO WHAT TO PAINT THE TOWN! NO ONE CAN DO IT LIKE HYOLYN! OUR QUEENDOM QUEEN.” One joked, “Not Hyolyn got the building clapping and praising like that was a church song.” Another flexed, “Hyolyn knowing she's THAT b***h after getting the first place two weeks straight.” One fan brought back the time when even Beyonce was hanging from the ceiling, “Hyolyn in her so what performance.” Another agreed when The Boyz’s Q shared that it was legendary, “MY MANS SPEAKING THE TRUTH.” A fan of another contestant joked, “Hyolyn is always mother but we need to be strategic and stop voting for her if we want to win.” One pointed out, “‘Hyolyn going home’ ‘homelyn’ ‘she doesn’t have any fans’ ‘it’s unfair’ ‘she not gonna make it two weeks’ two weeks in a row she’s beat n everybody else and it is NAWT close.”

Another fan wrote, “The dedication and effort Hyolyn put into her craft is amazing. It's her first time performing with hoops and her hands hurt but she still KILLED that stage.” One said, “And that’s how you close a show! hyolyn’s stage presence, vocals and her ideas makes me fall for her over and over again. #HYOLYN that was a great performance, ily.” Another added, “KEONHEE’S REACTION TO HYOLYN’S STAGE SAME KING SAME.”

One fan confided, “I'm sorry to hyolyn for being so worried in the beginning that she might get eliminated 😭 didnt have much confidence bcz of vote system amd newer gen dont really know her, but i feel like she slaps me ‘BAE BE CONFIDENT, YOU KNOW ME!’ 😭Ps. I'm glad no one's going home right?” Another commented, “Imagine Hyolyn at Coachella. She’d have everyone gagged idc idc. A PERFORMER!” One user shared, "I think the only way anyone is gonna beat Hyolyn is if she made a mistake bc she got that Beyonce focus."
