'Queendom 2' Episode 2: Hyolyn wins round 1 with perfect scores, fans flex 'that's right'

Hyolyn is the senior-most artist and the only soloist in the lineup of the survival show

‘Queendom 2’ has begun in full swing and now the competition is officially underway. After Viviz and Hyolyn’s stages, in Episode 2 we saw the remaining girls, Kep1er, Brave Girls, and WJSN perform for mission 1 which was ‘Signature Song’. Since all Loona members had tested positive, they missed it and were automatically placed last. However, the other participants agreed that Loona could still perform later and have their stage uploaded on YouTube.

While the premiere of ‘Queendom 2’ was slow, we already have the winner and rankings of round 1 and the next mission in Episode 2. There were some shocking placements as Viviz ranked last for peer evaluation after everyone deemed them a threat in the premiere and teared up during their performance. However, K-pop Twitter exploded with satisfaction as the winner turned out to be none other than soloist Hyolyn.

Hyolyn wins round 1 with perfect score

Hyolyn is the senior-most artist in the ‘Queendom 2’ as she debuted as the leader of the popular second-gen girl group Sistar. She went on to perform their iconic song ‘Touch My Body’ for mission 1 proving herself as one of the most powerful vocalists in K-pop. Despite being the only soloist in the lineup, her performance did not feel empty as it was filled with her stage presence. And so, it was no surprise to anyone when she ended up getting the perfect score and winning round 1.

‘Makes total sense with my fantasy’

Fans and non-fans were impressed as they went on to make tweets like, “HYOLYN ALL KILL FIRST ROUND OF QUEENDOM I KNOW THATS RIGHT!!” Another user posted, “Deserved!! this stage was unmatched sorry.” A Loona fan added, “These rankings are honestly really fair, hyolyn winning #1 spot kind of secured my faith in queendom.” Another fan made a reaction meme, “Hyolyn stays winning! First one on QueenDom to get a perfect score in all categories!” One commented, “Hyolyn winning the first round of Queendom makes total sense with my fantasy. She is THAT girl.” Another joked, “Congratulations to hyolyn for winning queendom 2.”

Round 2's mission

Fans were also hyped as we got a sneak peek of episode 3 and the second round where participants have to swap songs. With Hyolyn winning mission 1, she got to choose first and she picked Loona surprising everyone. WJSN chose Viviz with Brave Girls and Kep1er swapping songs. And so a multi-fan shared, “EVERYONE WANTED TO DO LOONA BUT HYOLYN GOT IT FIRST YES THIS IS ALL PART OF MY PLAN.” Another added, “HYOLYN 13TH MEMBER OF LOONA.” A Loona fan flexed, “We lost the battle but we still won smth.” Another wondered if she will perform Loona's 'So What' from the episode 3 preview, "So what hyolyn???"

Episode 3 of ‘Queendom 2’ will air on Mnet and their YouTube channel on April 14 at 9:30 pm KST (7:20 am ET).
