Netflix has slowly been expanding its international markets. The streaming service's international shows have been building up a fanbase all over the globe, some of which include 'Money Heist', 'Sacred Games', and 'Dark'.
Now, Netflix is putting out its first African original series which tells the story of a Jason Bourne-like female spy from South Africa.

The first season consisting of six episodes will be released globally on Netflix on February 28.
Plot
'Queen Sono' follows the life of the titular character who is a highly trained top spy in a South African agency whose purpose is to better the lives of African citizens. While taking on her most dangerous mission yet, she must also face changing relationships in her personal life.
Cast
Pearl Thusi is a South African actress, model, television host, and radio personality known for her roles in 'Quantico' and 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency'. She plays the titular role of 'Queen Sono'.
Vuyo Dabula
Vuyo Dabula is a South African actor best known for his work in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', 'Generations', and 'Five Fingers for Marseilles'. He plays the role of Shandu.
The show also stars Sechaba Morojele as Dr. Sid, Kate Liquorish as Ekaterina, Khathu Ramabulana as William, Enhle Maphumulo as Nova, and Abigail Kubeka as Mazet.

Kagiso Lediga is a South African Tswana stand-up comedian, actor, and director. He is best known for his work on 'Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola' and 'Catching Feelings'.
Lediga serves as the creator for 'Queen Sono' as well as an executive producer. Tamsin Andersson will also executive produce.
