'Project Runway': Kenneth eliminated by judges, fans pleased 'saboteur' is gone
Kenneth Barlis managed to narrowly escape the previous elimination on 'Project Runway' despite his poorly designed patchwork outfit. The designer managed to get off the hook due to the abrupt exit of fellow designer Meg Ferguson from the competition. Fans were unhappy with how things went down between Kenneth and Meg after the duo got into a heated argument over models. When all the designers stood up for Kenneth, Meg felt isolated so she decided to quit the show. Owing to her exit, the judges decided to not eliminate any other designer from the competition, thus giving Kenneth a chance despite the awful look he put together.
It goes without saying that all eyes were on Kenneth on the recently aired episode of 'Project Runway'. Fans were hoping to see a jaw-dropping design from him to justify his place in the competition. So, when Christian Siriano announced that the designers had to create a hauntingly chic gown and mask for a masquerade ball within 48 hours, fans were curious to see what Kenneth would come up with. The designer took a huge risk by picking out a green color for his design, while the other designers stuck to red, whites and blacks, to stay in line with the theme. Unfortunately despite taking risks and designing a very unique outfit, Kenneth failed to impress the judges and was sent home.

Kenneth channeled his Filipino heritage while designing the outfit, he wanted it to look dramatic and glamorous. He created a very modern-looking gown with extremely dramatic sleeves. The judges- Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, Elaine Welteroth, and guest judges Taraji P. Henson, felt that the outfit looked unfinished and very unflattering. While contemplating which designer should be sent home Nina explained how some designers need more time to grow and develop their own aesthetic and felt that Kenneth was one of those designers who just needed some more time to learn and grow. The judges called out the designers and announced that they were sending Kenneth home as he had one of the lowest scores.
Fans were pleased with the judges' decision and took to Twitter to express the same. A fan tweeted, "Kenneth is my least favorite. There’s no design and the finish was poorly done. #ProjectRunway @BravoTV." Another fan wrote, "Kenneth is literally the worst designer and they saved him cause of his crazy stories behind it that somehow he always has a excuse for why its not what he wanted it to look like #ProjectRunway." "Kenneth should have been went home #ProjectRunway," added a fan.
