Why did Meg Ferguson quit 'Project Runway'? Fans say 'goodbye and good riddance'
'Project Runway' Season 19 is turning out to be one of the most dramatic and chaotic seasons ever. Aside from the fabulous outfits, the designers are also busy weaving in some intense drama for us. If you thought the season's premiere episode featuring Bones Jones throwing shade at Christian Siriano and Darren Apolonio getting away for passing off a look that he hasn't designed was too dramatic, then you might want to hold your horses. The second episode proved to be more dramatic, as one of the designers quit the competition after getting into a heated fight.
Meg Ferguson entered the hit designing competition with dreams of promoting body positivity and showcasing fashion for plus-sized bodies, but instead, the Oklahoma-based designer ended up being shunned by all her fellow designers for her behavior toward fellow contestant Kenneth Barlis. The designers were tasked with the challenge of creating an elegant three-piece streetwear look, which ended up opening pandora's box. Designer Prajje Oscar Jean Baptiste was unhappy about designing a streetwear outfit for a White model as he was drawing inspiration from his Haitian roots and culture and felt that his design would be better suited for a Black model. When he voiced out his concerns, Meg immediately jumped in with her two cents and called out the fashion industry for White-washing and excluding plus-sized fashion. She gave a passionate speech about racism and being an ally for the cause, despite Prajje's visible discomfort with her speech.

Later Christian helped Prajje switch models so that he could showcase his design on a Black model. After watching Prajje switching models, Kenneth too got the idea that his design which was heavily inspired by his Asian heritage would look better on an Asian model. So, he approached Meg asking her if she would be okay with switching her Asian model with his White model. When it was time for Meg to walk the talk and showcase that she was really an ally, the designer started having second thoughts. She initially told Kenneth that she would see what she can do about it and made it clear that she wasn't making any promises. Later, she switched models with Kenneth but made a huge fuss about it.
She spoke down to Kenneth and behaved rudely about switching models at the last minute. Kenneth, who hates confrontations tried pacifying the situation by saying they didn't have to switch models if she wasn't comfortable, but Meg insisted on switching and walked away. Prajje, who overheard the entire exchange was unhappy with Meg's behavior and called her out for it and declared that he totally lost his respect for her. This triggered Meg, but instead of hashing it out with Prajje, she lashed out at Kenneth. The situation escalated when all designers came to Kenneth's rescue and firmly took his side.
Meg quickly stormed out and revealed that she was having a panic attack and wanted to go home. The next day, Christian revealed to the designers that Meg decided to quit the competition. In her green room interview, the designer explained that the competition got too intense for her and wasn't doing any favors to her mental health. She also pointed out how she felt lonely and isolated as none of the other designers had her back.
Fans were annoyed watching Meg's behavior and called her out for it. A fan tweeted, "And cue the tears. This is PEAK white womaning. #ProjectRunway." Another fan wrote, "That woman spilled the truth on the Meg situation. Meg wanted to play "ally" but got pissed when they didn't bow down to her for the "ally-ship" #ProjectRunway." "Meg really left...girl really thought that this was woke camp and she wld be queen. Bye #ProjectRunway," added a fan.
