After the tragic death of Tavon Singley in Episode 5, the resentment that's been building in Freeland is finally starting to reach a breaking point. The people are close to reaching that point where they're too angry to remember to be scared and there's no telling what could happen.
Lynn Stewart has been trying to figure out how to stabilize the Green Light metas for a while now but now it seems she may have a chance. Unfortunately, the only way to do it is by using the blood of a mysterious test subject, strongly implied to be none other than Tobias Whale.
Jennifer and Jefferson are bound to end up having an argument that may lead to a full fight between the two.
What will truly set 'Superman & Lois' apart is that we are going to see what life is like for the titular characters as a married couple
Episode 5 won't be airing this week and a rerun of the season premiere will be airing in its place on November 4 but the last episode set up a lot of plotlines and we can't wait to see how they play out
Painkiller has already made it clear that there is no one he can't kill, but what about when he goes up against a man who can't die?
Odell might have the upper hand right now but if he keeps pushing the Pierces, it's only a matter of time before they decide to push back and the ASA would do well to remember the amount of power at the hands of these three metahumans
The problem with these intros is how rushed they feel. Loud musical fanfares over short clips and dramatic dialogue come across as chaotic, and much of the impact is lost
So far, Jefferson didn't have to face the full reality of the occupation but now that he's confronted with the appalling conditions his fellow citizens are living in, there's no way the hero is going to stand by and let the ASA continue to commit gross human rights violations in his hometown
In the episode, Anissa runs into Grace while walking to her car. She's quite surprised to see the metahuman shapeshifter but she quickly declares her love for Grace and begs her to come back for good
Though Painkiller may have lost his humanity it has only made him even more deadly as a weapon. We saw how merciless he can be in Episode 2 when he killed his own mother on Odell's orders and in Episode 3, we get some more information on Painkiller's true capabilities.
Odell has already transformed Painkiller into his own personal killing machine using a mind-control chip. It's really only a matter of time before the alliance between the ASA and Black Lightning breaks down and when it does, Odell's so-called gift could lead to Jefferson's downfall
The CW released a sneak peek of the episode on October 21 showing Agent Odell tasking Painkiller with hunting down the Markovians who are currently amassing troops outside the city limits and the first promo clip released for the episode also showed Black Lightning's explosive return to the field.
Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain) are trying to sabotage the A.S.A.'s plans. This season, Anissa has transformed into a one-woman army while Jennifer continues to show she has the heart of a true hero
It looks like the Markovians may have released a biological weapon designed to neutralize all the metahumans in Freeland, removing all opposition to their invasion. The virus could cause massive damage in the city and cost countless lives unless Black Lightning decides to do something about it
Lala's return is sure to spell trouble for his enemies and especially for the A.S.A. who are already struggling to maintain their control over Freeland as is. But while he may be a terror to his foes, Lala continues to delight fans
Agent Odell keeps proving that he is willing to go to any lengths to fulfill his mission in Freeland. Hopefully, once Jennifer finds out that her boyfriend is back from the dead, she might be able to find a way to snap him out of his programming so they can team up and take the A.S.A down for good.
The strain of being kept on lockdown by the A.S.A. is clearly starting to get to Jefferson and it looks like a rift might be forming between him and Lynn. Meanwhile, Anissa is still stuck outside city limits with soldiers gunning for her and Jennifer has problems of her own to deal with
The image also features Iris West, The Monitor, Superman, Ryan Choi, Elongated Man/Ralph Dibny, Black Lightning, The Flash, John Diggle, and Kingdom Come Superman.
When the Markovians stage an attack on an A.S.A holding facility, Odell puts Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning and his ex-wife Doctor Lynn Stewart on lockdown saying that while Black Lightning is most certainly a valuable asset, Dr. Stewart is actually more important to the A.S.A.
The season premiere showed Jennifer struggling to get a handle on her abilities, which are clearly causing her intense pain. Surprisingly, it seems using her powers actually helps her manage the pain but with the A.S.A on the lookout for metahumans, Jennifer can't risk using her powers in public
While being interrogated by the young meta Issa Williams (Myles Truyyit) who is working under the direction of Odell, Tobias reveals Agent Proctor wasn't a rogue agent and that he was secretly taking his orders from Agent Odell, who in turn was getting his orders directly from the President
Taking up the new codename Blackbird, Anissa is now waging a shadow war with the A.S.A, sabotaging their plans in any way she can. Season 3's first episode revealed that Grace is back in Freeland and it looks like Anissa still misses her so it's only a matter of time before they meet again
The sight of little kids being kept in cages while armed guards watch over them isn't one that we're completely unfamiliar with. Indeed, it's the similarities between what's happening in Freeland and the real-life conditions in many places around the world that make this episode so chilling
While he is still a very athletic person and a formidable fighter, there's only so much Jefferson can hope to put his body through. Even in the first season, after Jefferson made his comeback, we saw how his powers drained him and left the veteran hero barely able to get out of bed
In the last season's finale, we saw the A.S.A.'s Agent Odell recruit the Pierce family to fight in the coming war. Season 3 will be beginning with Jefferson and his ex-wife Dr. Lynn Stewart being held in an A.S.A. facility for purposes unknown, away from the kids
It's already been made clear Lala can always be brought back to life even if he were to be killed. We'll definitely be seeing more of the Tattooed Man in 'Black Lightning' Season 3 but there's no telling what he may choose to do once he returns
If The CW's version of 'Crisis' does pull off something similar to the comics, it could bring 'Black Lightning' to the same universe as 'The Flash' and 'Supergirl'. This would be a welcome shift for the series as it would help add more locales to the show's world
If the show does decide to reveal that she is an Amazon, like in the comics, it would open the door for more Amazonian heroes like Donna Troy, Artemis and perhaps even Wonder Woman herself to make their way to the Arrowverse
While the Arrow, Flash, Supergirl, and Batwoman are confirmed heroes, we made a list of the DC legends and other Arrowverse heroes set to battle alongside them against the Anti-Monitor.
The A.S.A. has quite a complicated history with metahumans on the show. The previous seasons of the show revealed that the A.S.A. is responsible for the high number of metahumans who have popped up in Freeland and that they have been keeping a number of them in stasis, some for as long as 30 years
The suit itself looks a lot like Routh's outfit from 'Superman Returns' with a few changes that bring it closer to the 'Kingdom Come' suit. The basic design from the film is mostly unchanged, though the new suit has a more defined texture and sports a darker blue than the one used in the movie
After seeing all the damage the Monitor has done to the Arrowverse, it's hard to believe that he is supposedly its guardian. Sure, you might choose to wave all that insanity away saying cosmic entities work in mysterious ways but there's a much simpler explanation.
Considering the dire nature of the threat posed by Markovia, it is likely that Odell might bring Tobias out of imprisonment and unleash him on the foreign enemies. However, Whale isn’t likely to make a very dependable weapon, as he would definitely use any chance at freedom to try and exact revenge.
Jennifer's older sister will be taking on a larger role as Freeland's defender and it looks like she may be moving away from the family business and into a more solo role, which is bound to leave Jennifer feeling more than a little abandoned.
While she is an integral part of the show, Anissa has grown into her role as a hero over the last two seasons and it's about time she got a chance to continue that evolution away from the shelter of home and the protective influence of her father.

Black Lightning has plenty on his plate this season without needing to add 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' as well to the mix. Cress Williams is expected to take part in at least one of the crossover episodes, which are spread across five different shows.
The new suit swaps out the glowing blue-and-yellow lightning bolts from the old outfit with plain gold ones and gives the whole suit a less armorlike look
With Jefferson seemingly being kept off the streets at least for the first few episodes of the season, it looks like Anissa will be taking his place as Freeland's resident vigilante. The newly christened Blackbird may find some assistance from her younger sister Jennifer Pierce/Lightning
With both the Markovian invasion and 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' coming up in season 3, the return of Tobias might just be one threat too many for the Pierce family to handle, especially with the season's teaser hinting Jefferson might also be held captive
While Metron hasn't actually shown any villainous tendencies, his cold calculating manner makes him an extremely unpredictable player in the war to come
While the defense of his city and nation is definitely a better cause to fight for than the petty ambitions of a crime boss, it's still a little disappointing that Khalil is still being manipulated and used as a pawn when he should be making his own choices
The CW dropped a new teaser for the upcoming season September 11. Based on the short preview, it would appear Jefferson has been imprisoned at a time when his city needs him the most.
Ever since her boyfriend Wally West/Kid Flash was killed in 'Young Justice: Invasion', Artemis has struggled to move on with her life. She turns to Zatanna for help communicating with his spirit, forcing the young magician to pull a cruel (though well-intentioned) trick with M'gann's help
Throughout the season, Black Lightning served as the moral center of the team, questioning the more morally ambiguous decisions made by his friends and keeping them on the straight and narrow even when the lines between good and bad began to get blurred
Traditionally, the Legion was formed because they were inspired by the example of Superman. However, this time it looks like the Boy of Steel may be the one who ties together the present and future of the world
The last three episodes of 'Outsiders' brings all the season's story arcs to a close. By the end of 'Nevermore', the board has once again been reset but with some important changes and a surprise ending that's bound to get the show's legion of fans super excited.
Despite all the trouble that has hounded them since the begin of the season, the show's heroes have so far managed to come out on top at the end. In 'Terminus', the 23rd episode of 'Young Justice: Outsiders', that luck has run out. There is no hope left for our young heroes, only the Anti-Life
