Premiering in January 2016, DC’s superhero TV series 'Legends of Tomorrow' is already five seasons down, with the sixth season already upon us. Loyal viewers of the show are all geared up to watch the show steer ahead with a new plotline. Based on characters from DC Comics, the show will premiere on The CW on May 2 and will comprise 15 episodes.

Set in the Arrowverse, the sixth season will be moving ahead with the other TV series of the universe and is a spin-off of ‘Arrow’ and ‘The Flash’. The fifth season of the fun time-travelling television show was produced by Berlanti Productions and also saw a few new faces while fans also said their goodbyes to other characters. DC’s ‘Legends of Tomorrow' might have earned a lot of praise in the initial days but its recent ratings have got fans worried whether season seven will see the light of day.

What is DC's ‘Legends of Tomorrow' about?

The show stars Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Matt Ryan, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Tala Ashe, Jes Macallan, and Olivia Swann in prominent roles. At the end of the fifth season, the Legends defeat the Three Fates. We saw the Legends become famous as a documentary crew gets on board to film them as they investigate a strange new blip in the Timeline. Now, the show has explored different aspects in different seasons. From explorations in magic to Greek myths with aliens in the mix, we have seen it all. In the sixth season, 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' might turn towards science fiction and explore space more than time.

Will DC's 'Legends of Tomorrow' be cancelled after Season 6?

The show did get a lot of love from the audience and critics for its unusual concept in the initial seasons but off-late, the TV series has failed to impress the viewers and viewrship has dropped substantially. There have been rumours of the show getting cancelled earlier too, but luckily, fans got the fifth season to enjoy. The pandemic then led to a production delay for season six. Also, this past year, The CW said goodbye to three of its hit TV shows namely ‘Arrow’, ‘Supergirl’ and ‘Black Lightning’. The cancellation of DC's ‘Legends of Tomorrow' then should not come as a surprise.

According to the website TV Series Finale, the fifth season of DC's ‘Legends of Tomorrow' witnessed a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 764,000 viewers. If the reports published by the website is to be believed, it is down by 25% in the demo and by 19% in viewership as compared to season four. However, if we look at the official page of IMDb, majority of the episodes from season five have an impressive rating. Now, only time will whether the fans will be gifted season seven or not.
