‘Superman & Lois’ Episode 1 is all set to premiere with a bang. The upcoming superhero spinoff will mostly bring back the characters from Arrowverse or Titanverse but will also prominently follow the story of Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) and the problems they face when they decide to tell their twin teenage sons the truth about Clark’s real identity.

The plot of ‘Superman & Lois’ is based on Clark and his wife Lois' return to their Smallville home with their twin sons — Jordan and Jonathan. In Smallville, they get reacquainted with Lana Lang and her husband, Kyle Cushing. Clark’s children also make friends with Lana and Kyle’s daughter, Sarah. What to expect from episode 1?

In ‘Superman & Lois’, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains and aliens invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the Man of Steel and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois, come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever — dealing with two teenage children who have teenage issues. Clark and Lois also concern themselves with whether or not their sons could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.

After returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois meet Lana, who is currently employed as a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband, Kyle, who has a personal soft spot for Morgan Edge (another villain from the comic book).

Based on the released trailer and official synopsis, it will also be interesting to see what version of Morgan Edge the show chooses to feature. Edge could be anything from a relatively benevolent TV executive who would take over The Daily Planet or a ruthless businessman who hires Clark Kent. Meanwhile, The Stranger (Wolé Parks) is said to have an important role to play in Clark and Lois' personal life. There are chances that The Stranger might differ from the comics book where he is portrayed as the Phantom Stranger.

Fans of Arrowverse are already excited to see ‘Superman & Lois’. Several superhero fans have taken to Twitter to share their excitement. One user wrote: “i really really love the new Superman and Lois clip, Tyler is a great Clark and Elizabeth is a great Lois, i cant wait to see more of their dynamic”. Another wrote: "Here's hoping #SupermanAndLois debuts to as good as numbers as walker did and we get a season 2 renewal within a few days". A third user tweeted: "I’ve drifted away from most of the Arrowverse shows, but I gotta give Superman and Lois a try. Got it set to record should I pass out early tonight, which is a distinct possibility considering how tired I feel today."

'Superman & Lois’ has been in the works since October 2019. In 2020, The CW officially announced that the seventh spinoff from the Arrowverse would consist of only 15 episodes. Consequently, filming began on March 23, 2020, in Vancouver, British Colombia, but the production was rescheduled to a later date due to the pandemic. The filming of the pilot episode of ‘Superman & Lois’ started on October 21, 2020. ‘Superman & Lois’ is developed by Greg Berlanti and Todd Helbing.

Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel were the original creators of the characters and the stories. The series will be set in Arrowverse and share continuity with the other TV series of Greg Berlanti’s franchise. Those shows are ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Legends of Tomorrow’, ‘Black Lightning’, ‘Batwoman’, and ‘Supergirl’.

'Superman & Lois' Episode 1 premieres on February 23 and Episode 2 titled 'Heritage' will premiere on March 2 on The CW.
