LONDON, UK: The third season of 'Indian Matchmaking' has finally come and matchmaker Sima Taparia is back to assist individuals to find love. This season, Priya Ashra — a client fans only encountered briefly at the end of Season 2 — is one of Sima's primary clients who sparked interest among fans, and maybe not for the right reasons.

If there's one thing no one can deny, it's that Netflix's 'Indian Matchmaking' Season 3 is larger, better, and brighter than ever before, owing to Sima's tireless efforts. After all, she not only delivers us the most fascinating people, but she also pairs them in possible everlasting relationships, only for them to be the main attraction. Despite the show's varied reviews, it definitely struck a chord with viewers, who took to social media to voice their thoughts on Sima and her clients. Priya, in particular, was in the spotlight as they mocked her terrible communication skills and demands.

Priya ghosts Vim after second date

While we did catch a glimpse of divorcee Priya, who lives in London, in the last moments of Season 2, it wasn't until the most recent season that we truly got to know her. The fact is that she had only ever been in one relationship before, and after nearly two years of marriage (11 years total), she stopped things because he had deceived her in several ways. She thus made the decision to take some time for herself before reentering the dating scene with a clear idea of what she required in the long run, leading her to seek marital matchmaking.

As she frankly explained her problem in the Netflix production, "Whenever I go on dates, I always feel like I’m the person that brings the energy," Priya remarked. I always find I attract these guys that are – – they are like energy vampires; they just sit there, and they take all your energy. You come out, you feel really depleted, but they feel great. So no energy vampires." She then added traits like kindness, optimism, dependability, emotional maturity, and effective communication to her list of requirements, albeit she did have an aesthetic requirement: her suitor had to not be balding.

Priya, who enjoys a little top knot action, was ecstatic when Vimal "Vim" Kansara entered the scene after her disastrous dates with Bobby Seagull and Jai Vasani. She felt no genuine spark even though there appeared to be some potential with the former two guys, despite the fact that neither of them was bald, domineering, bad, or even intimidated by her past. On the other hand, she was immediately drawn to Vim because of his hair, the way he puts his heart on his sleeve, and the fact that he gives her a safe place to chat, so they may establish common ground.

Days later, on their second date, things shifted because Priya was overwhelmed by his obvious intentions and the manner he made it plain he wouldn't be playing games with her. Vim really never once hesitated to admit that he had feelings for her as well, but the degree of vulnerability this needed to terrify her so much that she decided to gradually back away to give herself time to reflect. Fortunately, Sima quickly stepped in to help, which made her realize that she not only owed her date an explanation but also that she didn't want their time together to end.

'Is Priya for real?'

Seeing Priya ghost Vim after their second date, made fans tweet, "So Priya is saying that she's getting turned off by this wonderful guy with a man BUN (the first requirement on her list) cause he likes her too much??? like help me understand this show." One Twitter user wrote, "priya is the worst communicator??" One person even went on to call her, "Priya is this season’s Aparna." Questioning why she signed up for the show, one asked, "Is Priya for real? This girl talking about everything is happening so fast when she signed up for a matchmaking show."

One Twitter user wrote, "sorry but priya on #IndianMatchmaking is so superficial it’s irksome." Talking about her preferences, a person tweeted, "So Priya is looking for someone with a hiiiiint of f-boy energy. Just a hint. She needs edge and I don’t think Sim Aunty has picked up on that yet. The man bun preference says it all." Another person chimed in, "I see Priya is going to be the Aparna of this season. And when someone rejects her it’s going to be some shock/problem! Especially since she is coming to with what people would perceive as baggage to the table." Pissed at Priya, one wrote, "Priya is bugging me. He wasn’t putting her on a pedestal. You asked him a question and he answered it. FFS."
