CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: The seventh episode of Apple TV+'s legal drama series 'Presumed Innocent' focuses on Rusty Sabich's (Jake Gyllenhaal) courtroom trial after he gets accused of the grisly murder of Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve).

David E. Kelley's eight-episode series follows Rusty, a prosecutor who is suspected of the death of his secret lover and colleague Carolyn.

In the most recent episode, Rusty is shown defending his own case in court while his legal defense, Raymond Horgan (Bill Camp), is experiencing a health crisis.

Nonetheless, his decision was received with skepticism by Mya Winslow (Gabby Beans), which proved to be correct as Rusty faced more challenges.

In the most recent episode, Rusty inadvertently agrees to be summoned as a witness to prove his innocence. Judge Lyttle (Noma Dumezweni) offers him a choice between a mistrial and taking the stand, and he chooses to testify.

In court, Tommy Molto (Peter Sarsgaard) argues that Rusty's rage outbursts are spontaneous, aligning with the circumstances of Carolyn's murder.

Tommy presents Rusty's texts to Carolyn to demonstrate his frequent violent outbursts and highlights Rusty's assault on Brian Ratzer (Marco Rodríguez) and his confrontation with Herbert Kumagai (James Hiroyuki Liao).

With all this evidence stacked against him, Rusty finds himself trapped, with no option but to maintain his claim of innocence.

It's an established truth that Tommy despises Rusty to a level that goes beyond professional jealousy. This is evident in the recent episode, where Tommy skillfully corners Rusty and portrays him as a violent madman.

Rusty attempts to minimize or excuse his outbursts under stress, but the damning evidence against him makes his situation dire and proves that his decision to testify backfired.

However, there is still room for a surprising twist or a change in approach that could benefit his case. Rusty may turn the tables in the next episode and reveal Carolyn's true murderer.

There's a possibility that a fresh piece of evidence or a surprise witness may surface, changing the course of the case and potentially helping Rusty. The man blackmailing Tommy could emerge and disclose the facts, proving Rusty's innocence.

With just one episode remaining, viewers are anxious to discover the true identity of the murderer.
