CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Set in the heart of Chicago's judicial system, Apple TV+'s courtroom drama 'Presumed Innocent' immerses viewers in the complex world of legality and justice as a prominent prosecutor struggles to establish his innocence of a crime he claims of never committed.

Based on Scott Turow's book of the same name, the show follows Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal), a charming and successful prosecutor whose life takes a dramatic turn when he finds himself on the wrong side of the law after being accused of murdering his colleague and secret lover, Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve).

Forced to battle for his own innocence, Rusty must traverse the perilous judicial system he once controlled. But Carolyn's son, Michael Caldwell (Tate Birchmore), is certain Rusty is responsible for his mother's death, but why?

What did Michael Caldwell reveal to Tommy Molto in 'Presumed Innocent' Episode 4?

Now, it is clear that Tommy Molto (Peter Sarsgaard) is not the only one who believes Rusty is the perpetrator of Carolyn's murder; her son Michael also believes Rusty is the one responsible for his mother's death, as shown by episode 4 of the thriller drama.

Tommy is preparing for the trial, and to smooth out the details, he meets with Michael and goes over all of the questions the defense might throw at him.

Michael admitted to seeing Rusty enter Carolyn's residence on the night of the murder but, also admits of unable to tell Rusty's demeanor at that time.

Michael also said that he suspected Rusty was lying when he denied murdering Carolyn because he saw remorse in Rusty's eyes, which gave him away.

To emphasize this, he reveals that Carolyn mentioned being afraid of a coworker in their most recent meeting. He added that the tension of the situation weighed heavily on her.

While she did not give the colleague's name, Michael guessed it was Rusty.

Is Rusty Sabich the man Carolyn Polhemus talked about?

Given the circumstances and Rusty's pursuit of Carolyn, it's conceivable that the guy Carloyn mentioned to her son Micahel is none other than Rusty.

It should be mentioned that Rusty was upset when Caroyln initiated a breakup, and in this episode, he disclosed that he was devastated by their failure and engaged in drinking.

Furthermore, the discovery of additional evidence of Rusty's skin beneath Carolyn's fingernails raised the possibility that Rusty was the guy Caroyln was scared of.

However, while the evidence leads to Rusty, it is possible that other coworkers harassed Carolyn since she did not disclose the man's identity. It is possible that she had dirt on one of her coworkers, most likely Tommy, considering how desperate he is to implicate Rusty in the murder case, and that the person he Carolyn referred to Micahel was Tommy.

Future episodes may probably go further into Carolyn's professional life and investigate additional candidates.

Overall, the courtroom drama skillfully keeps viewers on edge with its fascinating twists and turns, and it would be interesting to learn who Carolyn was terrified of.
