'Power' Season 6 Episode 6: Can Tommy and Ghost get out of the game before its too late?

Can Ghost and Tommy really have a retired life where they are not trying to kill each other and focusing on a clean life?

Ghost (Omari Hardwick) has been in the drug game for too long and wants out, and he has made it exponentially clear to the people around him. Giving Maria (Maria Rivera) the money to start a new life instead of killing her was supposed to be the first step towards that goal. But when has life ever gone that easy for Ghost? Season 6, especially, has been unkind to him, starting with the death of the woman he loved to now his son being held hostage for ransom.

In the promo for the upcoming episode, we see him hustling again, leading Tasha (Naturi Naughton) to ask him if he is getting back in the game. There is nothing Ghost wouldn't do for his family and we even see him making peace with Tommy (Jacob Sikora), the very man he tried to kill earlier this season.

We all know Tommy and Ghost's story is complicated and it became all the more so when Tommy tried to kill his former business partner and best friend last season but ended up killing his girlfriend instead. In retaliation, Ghost attempted to murder Tommy, missed and the cycle is promising to continue for a short while. However, the one thing that is uncomplicated is their love for Tariq (Michael Rainey Jr. ).

As much of a pain in the ass as he is being, Ghost loves his son, and Tommy his godson. They are going to work together, until Tariq is back home, because, as Ghost reminds him in the promo for 'Inside Man', they are brothers and "nobody sleeps until Tariq comes home."

Once that happens though, Ghost is planning to get back on track with his journey to become an upstanding citizen seemingly forgetting that in this game there are only two ways out — death or jail. Meanwhile, Tommy's girl LaKeisha (La La Anthony) is also trying to get him out of the game and we see her tell him that once Tariq is rescued no more of this life.

Will they be successful? Can Ghost and Tommy really have a retired life where they are not trying to kill each other and focusing on a clean life? Possibly not, but we will get to watch them make an attempt in Season 6 Episode 6, which airs on Sunday, September 29.
