BTS may be on a vacation right now but their influence continues to prevail as seen at the People’s Choice Awards. 2021 has been a big year for the global K-pop group as they were recognized in several fields for their talent and achievements. We first had them becoming the most awarded group at the MTV EMAs followed by the first Asian act to win ‘Artist of the Year’ at the 2021 AMAs. They also became the act with the most daesangs (grand prizes) at MelOn Music Awards in South Korea and have been constantly topping year-end charts like Apple Music, Spotify and Billboard.

While BTS was dominating their own country, they are also ruling international music industries. We first had them winning at the MTV VMAs and MTV VMAs Japan followed by being nominated for the second time in a row at the Grammys. And now they have made waves at the 2021 People’s Choice Awards aka PCAs. It was previously reported that along with them, we had their labelmates TXT getting nominated as well as the viral Netflix K-drama ‘Squid Game’.

BTS win in all categories at 2021 PCAs

BTS was nominated four times in three categories and won three of them which has fans impressed. The global K-pop group won ‘The Group of 2021’ and ‘Butter’ won ‘The Song of 2021’. BTS was also nominated twice for ‘The Music Video of 2021’ with ‘Butter’ and the Coldplay collaboration ‘My Universe’. BTS could win only thrice since they were up against themselves in the music video category and ended up taking the award for ‘Butter’. This also makes BTS the most awarded artist at the 2021 PCAs.

‘Squid Game’ wins at 2021 PCAs

South Korea is coming in strong even in the TV show business. ‘Squid Game’ was pretty much the most-watched Netflix show of the year and is now being acknowledged by the rest of the world as they won Gotham Awards, Hollywood Music in Media Awards and now the 2021 PCAs. The show was nominated alongside ‘Cobra Kai’, ‘Loki’, ‘Mare of Easttown’, ‘Outer Banks’, ‘Sex/Life’, ‘Ted Lasso’ and ‘The White Lotus’ for ‘The Bingeworthy Show of 2021’. In the meantime, we have ‘Squid Game’ and its lead Lee Jungjae also being nominated at the Critics’ Choice Awards.

Happy ARMY made tweets like, “BTS stay winning even while on vacation!!” Another fan shared, “Congrats on the PCA wins!!!! @BTS_twt So proud of you guys.” One fan added, “Bagging all awards at time of break here and there.”
