In 'Parish' Episode 1, viewers witness that Gray's business is in a critical condition, and the bank refuses to grant him a loan because of the company's financial instability.

Gray's wife, Ros (Paula Malcomson), suggests that they should move to a more affordable neighborhood to cut down on their living expenses.

However, Gray is reluctant to move to a cheaper neighborhood because their current household cherished memories of their children.

As the episode unfolds, Gray's friend, Colin (Skeet Ulrich) presents him with an offer to become the getaway driver for a criminal gang. He would need to wait outside the location of the robbery and be prepared to drive the robbers away after the crime is committed.

Gray initially declines the offer, but as his financial situation worsens, he eventually accepts it as a means to make money.

In 'Parish' Episode 1, Colin introduces Gray to a mysterious gang leader known as 'The Horse' (Zackary Momoh).

Gray is tasked with picking up a lawyer named Peter, who is supposed to bring Colin inside his office and open his safe to get a special package. They need to deliver the package to The Horse.

Gray doesn't seem to care what's in the package; he just wants to complete one job and avoid further involvement with the gang.

As Colin, Gray, and Peter proceed with their mission, the police unexpectedly show up, heightening the risk and complexity of their task.

After overcoming various challenges and avoiding detection by the police, they hand over the package to The Horse. However, he is displeased by the police's arrival, as the job was supposed to be discreet.

The Horse's brother kills Peter for failing to fulfill his duties adequately.

What risks will Gray face as he becomes increasingly entangled with The Horse and his criminal activities? Only time will tell.
