Are we getting OT13 Seventeen before end of 2021? The8, Jun to return to South Korea

The8 aka Minghao and Jun had reunited with their families in China after two years

Despite the K-pop group having 13 members with busy individual schedules, Seventeen has always had complete comebacks with all of the members participating in their music and group activities. However, this time, we had the Chinese members The8 aka Minghao, and Jun aka Junhui flying home to China in between ‘Attacca’ promotions. Since their debut in 2015, this was Seventeen’s first comeback where all of the members were not present. But fans can finally rejoice because we just might be getting OT13 Seventeen before 2021 ends.

Due to the pandemic, Jun and Minghao had not seen their parents in two years. The strict lockdown rules made it difficult for K-pop idols from different countries to fly to and fro. However, in September, Pledis Entertainment announced that the Chinese Seventeen members would be going home and staying in China for the remainder of 2021. Minghao and Jun would be with their families till December 2021 and focusing on their Chinese activities.

Jun and Minghao to return soon

In that time, Seventeen released their latest album ‘Attacca’. It was an instant hit, made them double-million sellers, and charted on Billboard. Their Japanese release ‘Ai no chikara’ topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Chart for five days straight and also topped Japan’s Line, AWA, and Rakuten charts. The 11 members in South Korea also held concerts, won the Worldwide Fans' Choice at MAMA 2021, and a Daesang (grand prize) at Asia Artist Awards. And while Jun and Minghao had participated in the making of the 'Attacca' album, they were not physically present to celebrate these moments with their group and fans.

We did get cute interactions between the members online with everyone commenting on Minghao and Jun’s posts of how they missed them. Well, on December 12, Mingyu went live with some good news. He shared that Minghao and Jun were coming back soon. He then confirmed with his manager that they would indeed be flying back next week i.e., the week of December 20. However, we won’t get OT13 immediately since Minghao and Jun will be quarantined according to South Korea guidelines.

Happy fans have been trending the Seventeen members with tweets and memes like, “When I heard that #JUN and #MINGHAO are going back to Korea next week,” “So if jun and minghao are coming back next week Joshua's going to be spending his birthday with all of the members, his family in Korea,” and “This was when gyuhao didnt see each other for ONE WEEK idk what will happen when minghao comes back.” However, some fans wanted Jun to stay in China longer since he had not been home for over 2 years and had also landed a Chinese drama, “We r not "oh can he not come back to sokor cuz i dont want ot13 to be tgt" its more like can he stay longer to rest amd enjoy cuz he deserves it after not coming back for 2 yrs.”
