LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Almost two days after it was announced that Rihanna will be performing her song ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ at the Oscars this year, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have come forward with two more that will be mesmerizing the viewers with their soothing voice at Hollywood’s biggest night. The Academy recently announced that actor and singer Sofia Carson and songwriter Diane Warren will be performing their song ‘Applause’ from the movie ‘Tell It Like a Woman’ at the 95th Academy Awards.

This is the second performance that has been confirmed by The Academy in the last two days after Rihanna was confirmed to perform her track from ‘Wakanda Forever’ at this year’s ceremony.

The other songs that have been nominated in the Original Song category include ‘Naatu Naatu’ (‘RRR’), ‘Hold My Hand’ (‘Top Gun: Maverick’), and ‘This Is a Life’ (‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’). It has been widely reported that Gaga might get on the stage once more to perform her track, ‘Hold My Hand’, this year and the Academy might announce the next set of performers very soon.

Warren's whopping 14th nomination

This is Warren’s 14th Oscar nomination in the Original Song category, a tally equaled by only seven other musicians in the history of the awards ceremony. Meanwhile, this is the sixth year in a row that she has been nominated for a song that has been written by her, making it the longest continuous streak since Alan Bergman and his wife Marilyn Bergman’s six consecutive nominations from 1968-1973. Shockingly, Warren hasn’t been able to get her hands on the beautiful statuette till now and is still searching for her first win in the category.

On the other hand, 29-year-old Sofia Carson has been nominated for her first-ever Academy Award and will be competing against the likes of Rihanna and Lady Gaga for the trophy. Carson has been a part of several high-end ventures and came out with her debut studio album, titled ‘Sofia Carson’, last year.

Carson shared her excitement on her official Instagram account and said she feels honored to share the stage with Warren. She wrote, "Honored above and beyond words. To sing 'Applause' on The Oscars stage... See you so very soon @theacademy. I adore you @dianewarren."
