The Oscars are here once more and this time around too there's an abundance of talent to go around which means that there is some strong competition. This year, the Academy Awards. The 2022 Oscars marks the 94th time that Hollywood will come together to honor some of the best movies, performances and creative work from the past year as millions of viewers from around the world tune in. With the lack of a Golden Globes telecast this year, viewers hope that the Oscars ceremony will restore some of the glitz and glam to what's usually such a star-studded affair

Among the most awaited award announcements at the event is that of the Best Animated Feature Film that encases the wondrous and enchanting world of animation. The nominees for the 2022 Oscars are 'Encanto', 'Flee', 'Luca', The Mitchells VS THE Machines' and 'Raya and The Last Dragon'. Each one of these made waves and a place in viewers' hearts with their brilliant storytelling and visually stunning animation. 'Encanto' won the prestigious award this year.

'Encanto' was the Disney movie that took the world by storm with its beautiful scenery of Colombia, the inclusion of the beautiful culture, its people, food, and more making the representation of the country and everything that it comes with even more important. From hit songs like 'Surface Pressure' to 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' which captures the character's internal struggles, the movie won praise all around.

So the movie was already a fan-favorite to win, making the result even more joyous. In their acceptance speech creators Jared Bush, Byron Howard, Yvette Merino, and Clark Spencer expressed that they were so proud to be part of a movie that showcases diverse characters which many people see themselves in. They also thanked Lin Manuel Miranda for the music and Walt Disney Studios for backing the film. Lastly, they thanked the country of Columbia without which the film would not have existed.

Another fan opined, "This Encanto win is music to the mouse ears at the top of Disney+ #Oscars", while another viewer rejoiced, " “I knew it! I knew it! I knew Encanto would win an award!“ -My seven year old Henry #Oscars #Oscars2022 #psychic". A tweet also read, "I told @thejaredbush that #encanto was a love letter to Colombia.
