One of the first performances for the 92nd Academy Awards belonged to Idina Menzel and multiple international singers that were brought to the stage to perform 'Into the Unknown' from the film 'Frozen 2'. The song has been nominated for the Best Original Song category.

Channeling the ice queen Elsa, Menzel opened the performance of the song which held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s US Kid Digital Songs chart. Menzel also brought in multiple singers who had sung the international versions of the songs.

Norwegian singer Aurora joined Menzel. The other singers who performed included Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg, Willemijn Verkaik, Takako Matsu, Carmen Garcia Saenz, Lisa Stokke, Kasia Łaska, Anna Buturlina, Gisela and Gam Wichayanee.

Fans were ecstatic after the performance. One fan tweeted, "Didn’t even saw Frozen 2, but I loved that performance as a nice nod to the localization industry. #oscars." Another wrote, "Liked that Frozen performance adding other languages was a nice touch! #Oscars."

Another fan wrote, "@idinamenzel (and all of the Elsa’s) SLAYED at the #Oscars!!"

A fan counted the performance as one of their top moments of the 92nd Academy Awards so far.

Another tweeted, "OKAY OKAY OKAYYYY I AM BEYOND MOVED BY THAT FROZEN PERFORMANCE. I truly got continual chills throughout."

One fan acknowledged the addition of the international singers, saying, "I think my family has listened to the Japanese version of the Frozen 2 soundtrack on Spotify as much as we’ve listened to the English version."

However, some fans were disappointed that the international singers did not include any singer of color. One viewer tweeted, "So...not a single person involved in the “global” Frozen situation flagged there was not a single black woman on that stage?"

The Academy Awards is being held at the Dolby Theatre.
