'Oops': ‘Today’ show fill-in host Jacob Soboroff suffers wardrobe malfunction on-air while hosting segment on Mother's Day
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 'Today' show is currently hosted by Hoda Kotb, with Savannah Guthrie serving as co-anchor and Al Roker handling the weather forecast. Jacob Soboroff, a fill-in host on the show who appears on occasion, has made headlines for an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction on live television.
In a recent broadcast of the ‘Today' show, Jacob, a correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC, was sharing the air with Sheinelle Jones and Dylan Dreyer, filling in for Craig Melvin and Al Roker on '3rd Hour'. Everything was working as per the script for Jacob until he dropped something on his pants that left him embarrassed during the live broadcast.

'I just made a mess with them on my pants'
Sheinelle, Dylan, and Jacob decided to celebrate Mother’s Day early with their segment. The hosts got a mother/daughter duo who had created a small pretzel business together that impressed all the hosts. The name of their pretzel business turned out to be 'Stellar Mini Braid Pretzels Brands', which offered a host of flavors to anyone trying their product. The hosts couldn’t wait to dig in. Sheinelle and Dylan went about their jobs, trying the pretzel while Jacob explained the product.
But when Jacob began to eat, the pretzel fell on his lap leading him to shout, “Oops”, "I just made a mess with them on my pants.” However, it wasn’t as big a mess as Jacob brought it out to be. The camera in the studio panned to his trousers later in the segment where only a few crumbs of the pretzels could be seen. It surely was an embarrassing moment but could have been worse if Jacob had to leave the broadcast mid-air owing to a bigger stain.
Jacob loves doing the ‘Today' show
Jacob loves to fill in for the absent host from time to time. He is turning into someone that the fans of the show enjoy watching. Recently on College Decision Day, Jacob had an extremely fun-filled segment with one of the soon-to-be college students, Ethan Thai. "This could not be more exciting! Alright, guys, I'm happy to be here with Ethan Thai,” Jacob said on live air.
During the segment, Ethan spoke about his admission to Rutgers and Jacob mentioned that Rutgers has a great marching band. He arranged for the Rutgers marching band to appear on the live broadcast as Ethan danced on the beats. Towards the end, Jacob placed his arm around Ethan and said, "That was hilarious!”
