'Only Murders in the Building' Season 3 finale amped up the drama, leaving fans speculating and formulating multiple theories for the next season.

In a shocking twist, Charles's stunt double, Sazz Pataki (played by Jane Lynch), was killed at Charles's apartment by a bullet that came through the glass window.

The season ended on a suspenseful note, leaving fans questioning the killer's identity and motives. Was Sazz the intended target, or was the killer aiming for Charles and mistakenly shot Sazz instead?

The upcoming season will delve into this mystery from both angles, investigating why someone would want to kill either Sazz or Charles.

Fans speculate the killer ahead of 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 4

Ahead of Season 4's release, fans have donned detective's hat to speculate the Sazz Pataki's killer. A fan initiated a thread on Reddit as he wrote, "Based on likelihood, I think the killer is either: Molly Shannon, Desmin Borges, Siena Werber, Richard Kind."

He further added, "If the killer was a character from previous seasons it's either Jan or Joy."

Someone commented, "Jan being the one behind this would make sense—or if they go a weird route and say it was actually the wrong apartment."

A fan of the show expressed that the killer "Should be an already established member of the cast. Having a new cast member be the killer again would be disappointing. I would like it to be someone within the building who is trying to end the podcast because having the deaths publicised is destroying the value of their investments. They could believe they are acting in an antihero manner. Protecting the older and in debt residents from the consequences of others."

Another fan countered, "It's hard to see any of the current cast as professional snipers. Maybe Tobert. One of them could have hired one."

A Reddit user joined the theory of Tobert being the mastermind as he explained, "Tobert left the party just before the scene cuts to the trio with Sazz, and the mystery text from Joy. Sazz is shot soon after. Tobert is a hitman or undercover operative."

A crazy fan theory reads, "It's one of Sazz's ex (bonus if Charles had a crush/dating her in the past), she totally meant to kill Sazz on purpose, and in the 5th season, she’s dating Jan in jail and Charles will have to sit on the other side of the glass window as both of his exes just sit on each other's laps while totally sassing him."

Well, the showrunners have surely managed to deliver an exciting mystery plot, pushing fans for discussions on online platforms much before the release date of the next season.
