Following the release of their last mini-album ‘Popping’, ONF had a pretty successful comeback that left their fans very confused. The group released their sixth mini-album on August 9 this year and only four months following that, the group has announced a new comeback. On November 9, the label under which ONF produces music, WM Entertainment reported that ONF will release their new album early in December of 2021, right before their military enlistment.

Fuses (ONF's fandom) are excited to know how ONF is gearing up to make a comeback in such a short time after their last successful release. With ‘Popping’, ONF entered Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart at Number 2 breaking their own previous record for their song ‘Ugly Dance,’ which had entered the same chart at Number 8 during its release.

ONF's military era?

The group is one of the first K-pop groups to come up with such an emotional decision but the six-member group ONF, divided into two sub-units ‘On’ and ‘Off,’ has announced the start of their "enlistment era". With two group leaders, five South Korean members and one Japanese member, the group is as close-knit as any K-pop band can be. It comes as a shock for fans that the five South Korean members of ONF who are between 24-27 years of age have decided to enlist together into the military — this despite recent changes that have raised the age of mandatory enlistment for South Korean males to 30 years. The five South-Korean members of the group namely leaders, Hyojin, J-US, as well as members E-tion, Wyatt, and MK will enlist together at the end of 2021 — the only group member who won't be joining them is U, who is Japanese. Earlier, on the day they announced their comeback, Hyojin and J-US, the two leaders of ONF took to their fan-cafe to share the bittersweet news with fans. In a hand-written letter, the two leaders narrated why the group's members had decided to enlist together.

Fans are experiencing a multitude of emotions with this announcement but the fact that the leaders said that the members of ONF have arrived at this decision after a lot of deliberation so that they can come back together and make a lasting career following their enlistment is sitting well with the Fuses who wish only the best for these boys.

‘ONF will enlist together’

Fans are talking positively about the news despite being sad about how they will miss the boys in the future. One fan said, “ONF WILL ALSO ENLIST TOGETHER?? MAN, WHY?” Another fan said, “So it's already the time for onf members to enlist? They're the first group I know that enlist together.” One more fan joked, “Me when i remember ONF will enlist together,” with a picture meme.

One fan hoped, “Gosh ONF really need to rest well before their enlistment. They've been working like crazy this year.” Another fan said, “ONF IS HAVING A COMEBACK BEFORE THEIR ENLISTMENT AND WILL ALSO BE PROMOTING ON MUSIC SHOWS, WE NEED TO GET THEM A WIN. Hopefully non-fuses will help too.”
