'One Summer' is a Hallmark romantic drama movie, directed by R C Newey and written by Maria Nation and Michael Reisz. Newey is the director of the 2020 comedy-drama 'Killing Eleanor'. Furthermore, he has directed episodes of the TV series 'Beauty and the Beast', 'Good Witch', and 'Carter'. Newey also directed the Hallmark movies 'A Song for Christmas', 'A Little Christmas Charm', and 'Crashing Through the Snow'.

'One Summer' talks about the story of Jack Armstrong, who was once very sick and close to death. Incidentally, his wife Lizzie is the one who unexpectedly dies. After a surprising recovery, Jack returns to her beachside hometown with his daughter Mikki, and son Tyler. He wishes to spend the summer in their childhood home Lizzie fondly called “The Palace", hoping it will help them all heal. 'It Was Always You', 'Roadhouse Romance' and 'A Little Daytime Drama' are some other romances from Hallmark that may interest you.

Spoilers 

While Jack turns his attention to the old lighthouse he visits with his children, where Lizzie used to play as a child, it falls in a state of disrepair. While Jack works to restore it, he begins to see and speak with his late wife. Through these visions, Lizzie tells Jack she only wants the best for him and their kids and believes they can find it in her hometown.
